Founding Fathers were WRONG

I don't see anything being done about it, so my "I give up" opinion is that the left should abandon the issue and let the right own it entirely. Mass shooting number 48 on the 35th day of the year? Who knows? Ask the SOTH.

If you define mass shootings broadly enough, you can come up with something that sounds impressive at first blush.

But the facts are that a very tiny percentage of gun owners unlawfully shoot at anyone.

Ok. I hope that no nutters who shouldn't own a gun shoot at yours or mine. That's just the risk we have to take for a hobby, right?

I think you are a greater risk of being struck by lightning then you are of some rando just blasting you away. You have a much greater risk of dying in a plane accident or a car accident and being shot at.

So pretending this risk to you is so great is just being overly dramatic.

Think to yourself how many times have I been shot at I live in Texas where it's almost mandatory for you to have a gun and I've never once been shot at.

There are considerable benefits to owning guns other than that, and what you characterize as "hobby" has many benefits in itself. But owning guns probably wasn't included as an enumerated right in the Constitution simply because of the hobby potential.

But yes, we do accept many risks because of "hobbies".

Another poster here claims the risks associated with motor vehicles outweigh their use for recreation.

The difference is that I have to drive to work. Going plinkety plink at cans on the fence is a fun Sunday afternoon.

You drive to work because you have chosen a lifestyle that requires that.

The plinker plinks because he has chosen a lifestyle that requires that.

You don’t have to drive to work. You can walk, cycle, Uber, taxi, carpool etc.

How often have you been shot at though? I'm willing to bet you've either been in a car accident or been in your accident more often than you've been shot at unless you're dealing drugs or involved in prostitution.

Uh huh.

Lol. Here's me hoofing it to work for five hours both ways. I'm guessing that you don't live in the sticks.

I've used my guns at least that many times-likely many more- and no resulting death or injury.

Your argument fails.

Does not fail. My stats apply to most people. Yours do not.

Cars cause orders of magnitude more than guns do.

You can not support this claim.

Of course they aren’t. Motor vehicles cause 10x’s more death and injuries than firearms do.

Please show how guns are used even a fraction of much as cars?
Even if cars cause t10x more deaths they're used way, way more than that.

Is possessing a gun a safety hazard in itself?

I suppose that the only darkly funny part of gun control discussions in general is that random 60 year olds think that they might be able to fight off a nuclear armed and fully mechanized military if they are allowed a scary looking rifle, a bump stock, and a bigger clip. They were sold a bill of goods in exchange for their unions, and we're all paying for it.
It’s funny seeing you spew your little fantasies on here and pretending like they are reality.

Tell me do you think anyone cares about the bs stories you make up.

I don't care if you don't care.
