Founding Fathers were WRONG

Of course, in 1940, the Brits wanted any guns we would send them since they had disarmed themselves.

"The grim plight of the British people was emphasized by a direct appeal to NRA members from a British military spokesman: “Send us anything that shoots,” he pleaded."

Funnily enough we don't run the country expecting to be invaded tomorrow.
I also don't think giving me a gun is going to make another country not invade if they feel like it.
I'm not Rambo and I can't take out an attack helicopter with a bow and arrow with a stick of tnt tied to it.

That's what the nuclear subs are for.

Many shooters are law abiding until they decide to shoot someone.

Holy shit! I never thought of that! Can you believe nobody has ever brought up that surprising notion to date?

I know I'm sending a donation to the Gun Control Industry ASAP.

But what do I do about the fact that most drivers are law abiding (just go with that) until they decide to run somebody over with their car?

Yeah in 1940 lots were probably saying that is what the British Navy is for, but they wanted those guns anyway.

Again, we don't make laws about guns just incase we might get invaded.
The UK has no gun culture or call for looser gun laws.
It is not a political issue here with any traction.

We also don't make laws expecting that the government might turn into monsters that need overthrowing.

Cool.

Here we have around 100 million people who do want to peacefully exercise their Constitutional rights and civil liberties. If asked, I would say most of them don't really give a flip about what you guys want or don't want.

Just don't come looking for a handout again. Not from me. I wouldn't send you a BB gun if you had barbarian hordes eating all your fish and chips and shitting in your gardens.

They have already let the barbarians into the UK and they don’t give a shit.

POublic roads ae at least, and as the name suggests, they are indeed public property.

Sorry, sloppy typing on my part

Should read: "Public roads are at least. And as the name suggests, they are indeed public property".

I'm glad you told us. Nobody would have been able to figure that out.

Do you learn anything useful over there?

No, many people have seen the "law abiding" argument nonsense for what it is all along.

But what do I do about the fact that most drivers are law abiding (just go with that) until they decide to run somebody over with their car?

Cars vs guns is a nonsense comparison as has been established many times over. Cars have a lot more utility and on a per-usage basis, they kill almost noone compare to gun per-usage kill ratio.

Bullshit. Vehicles are 71% as prevalent as firearms but have 87% of the deaths. So, more deaths per a vehicle.

As of 2021, there were 283,400,986 commercial and personal vehicles registered to drivers in the United States.

In 2022, a total of 42,514 fatal car accidents occurred on roadways across the United States. Another 1,664,598 crashes resulted in injuries and 4,226,677 caused property damage

398.5. MILLION firearms in US

48k firearms death wi5 55% being suicide.

I live quite near London so the only training available is how to be a cockney chimney sweep or butler.
I chose to be a chimney sweep as I'm not posh so can't be a butler.

You can train to be a pickpocket but that's only if you're small and look shifty enough.

Do people have to use guns multiple times a day to get to and from work?

I know the US is dangerous but getting into a couple of daily shootouts just to get where you want to go seems a bit much.

Read again what I said.

Per-usage, death rate of guns a lot more. For example, I used my 10,000s of times (maybe 100,000+) and that did not result in a single death or injury. Same can be said of most drivers.

The same stat does not apply to gunshots fired.

Prove this claim.

The text of 2nd Amendment is clear
So where did it say clearly that the right of the militia and not the people shall not be infringed.

Highlight the precise text please because as I read it, it says the right of the people.

Show me how I'm wrong
