Ok.

So in his first term, Obama always kept shifting the blame for numerous failures on all sort of things. From Bush, to the republicans to the rich people and corporations. He never took blame himself... for failures that happened under him. He always shifted it, deflected it gracefully. No point denying it, even if you are the most fervent of democrat fanatics.

I am certain that if Romney had won, his first term, his failures, he would have put the blame on Obama. Ofc, we can never know that for sure, but that is what my political gut tells me. But lets sink into reality.

I feel that Obama has no more excuses left. This second term, he should never say that whatever insufficiency or failure of his administration should be the result of previous administrations or other people. Romney handed him a sweet ball to roll with in his concession speech and Obama has again the awesome chance to bring republicans and democrats together, as his job demands it.

So what do you guys think, should Obama have any more excuses in his excuses bag, or shouldn't he.

Min 15:00 sounds promising. I know he made the same pledge over and over, but now, he has no more excuses not to do his job.

He will continue to blame the "failed policies" of his predecessor. He will continue to blame the Republican controlled House. He will continue to blame the wealthy, and Wall Street, and everything that doesn't have a (D) in front of it.

The entire Congress was in the Democrats hands for four years, two of which with a super majority (that they now deny even existed). They didn't seem to get anything "fixed" in that time. So what makes you think they're going to back off on blaming Republicans? It's been such a helpful strategy for them for so long.

Do you really think that one man can decide everything? What are you smoking? ;)
This is a democracy, not a monarchy.

Long story short, hell no.

The country needs a President that is a leader, not a sniveling little **** whistle that blames everybody else for his inability to complete a job.
How many of us would last more than a month in our current professions if we failed to get our jobs done, and then blamed the guy we replaced
EVERY SINGLE ****ING TIME.

Beyond that, it's not like he doesn't have veto power, which is an awesome negotiation tool. Seriously.

...
that is not a valid excuse. His job is to bring people together and make sure the country does well.

If the economy doesn't come back within 2 years, assuming the GOP doesn't go to nuclear war on deliberately damaging the economy out of spite, he has no excuse.

6 years for a recovery after a financial crisis coupled with deleveraging is about right. Expecting it to be over in 4 years is extremely ignorant.

^this. it's like people expect obama to wave a magic wand and make all the ills of our nation vanish.

I hope the GOP locks him down so tight he can't do ****. I look forward to 4 years of bitching about Republican obstructionism. And I will applaud them for it.

Is that actually in the job description?

As for who to blame, in the UK, from 1979-1997 (about 18 years) they had a conservative government & towards the end you still had the occassional incident of people blaming the Labour government of 1975-1979, so it seems there is no time limit on such excuses & that (should the Dems keep winning) in 2022, you might still occassionally here Bush get the blame.

Since the popular vote was essentially 50-50, Obama needs to lead that way...but telling the Republicans "My way or the highway" won't cut it.

Do I think Obama will change? Will he try to work with the Republicans in a sincere manner? No.

The result is we'll have four more years of the Republican thwarting the liberal agenda and the Democrats thwarting any Republican attempts to solve this nation's problems.

Oh, and before I forget, Obama doesn't have Bush foreign policy to rely on any longer. Whatever happens in the world is his baby.

Yes, that is part of his job description.

And yes, I agree with your assessment that people blame those before them for decades even. I do however find it rather rude and in order for such a practice to be discontinued, the citizens of the USA must punish the leader who succumbs to such practices... and European citizens must punish their leaders who do the same.

So you support the partisan gridlock in Washington? Interesting.

What I am looking for is for Obama to get a clue about alternative energy. Totally revise his environmental policy. Sign the Kyoto accords.

I would also like him to selectively reduce the size of government especially the DOD.

It will be very interesting to see if he is able to name new Justices and if he does who they will be.
