the problem is the numbers are not accurate simply due to the number of false positives.
The actually numbers of people who have something in their system that may trigger a positive? Yeah, they are probably higher. As I understand it the test is so sensitive it may go positive where the patient is not infectious nor has even a mild case of the disease.
No I'm saying that we're testing half again as many people today we were in July to find the same number of infections. In July were were testing approximately 700,000 people a day. Today, we're testing 1.2 million.

False positives can be rectified. Its the false negatives that are nasty as it contributes to the number of numbskulls walking around thinking they are safe.....you know....like the numbskulls in the WH that depended on an unreliable test as their only tool. Tests are not prophylactics against this virus. They are a tool but they are not a prophylactic tool. Just another example of the dead between the ears WH including Der Leader.

The reason this winter has the potential to be so much worse that our earlier Spring, similar to the 1908 pandemic, is because now - unlike earlier - the virus is fully entrenched everywhere in the country.
