I said "the vast majority" were entirely innocent (post #2), and they were-and most were eventually released without charge. Of all the 700+ detainees only two (2) were convicted of any offense. Don't invent what you want me to have said.

Improper entry is a minor crime. It’s a misdemeanor only, and the vast majority of undocumented immigrants are not even charged with the crime, they’re simply deported using civil procedures. Crossing an imaginary line is not some terrible crime that deserves our worst punishments, and treating the undocumented immigrants who came here looking for work like they are hardened criminals is simply not justified. There is only one thing that explains the irrational and hateful attitude of Trump supporters towards these undocumented immigrants from Central and South America.
