The people crying about crowded into cages don't seem to worry about the overcrowded houses, schools, and lack of jobs for all the Americans suffering under this illegal onslaught.

Each wave of immigrants to America was met with hostility going back to Italians and Irish immigrants, and of course African Americans whose immigration to America was involuntary.

The difference today is that discrimination and cruelty are official government policy.

I seem to remember the left was all up in arms over photos of immigrant detainees in cages turning Trump's first term only to learn later the photos making those headlines were taken during the Obama administration.

Sorry, when you detain people, even when Democrats do the detaining, you typically need to pen them as they often go on walkabout if you don't. And in this case, the cages also keep the detainees safe from the alligators.

I respect you but I'm not backing down on this. Either they are the problem or they look the other way and make excuses for the offenders while others commit these actions. I left the Catholic church and then became a Humanist more than 35 years ago for this reason and its only gotten worse since then. Organized religion doesn't solve problems. It creates and legitimizes them. Its long past time for people to put away their imaginary friends and their religious delusions and act like moral and rational adults.


"god works in mysterious ways" is the favorite excuse for allowing these actions to happen.

The problem with your statement is that not all Christians are Catholic. There are several denominations of Christians.

However, on the other hand, illegal presence is not a crime and purely a civil matter.

What's the difference?

Say someone from Central or South America crosses the border illegally? That is illegal entry.

Let's say a South African comes to the US on a Student VISA to attend school. Drops out of school and does not leave the country, disappearing into the country side. That is illegal presence but not illegal entry has he crossed the border legally.

Are we absolutely positive that the punishment fits the "crime"? Are we sure everyone in AA is illegal or are they just brown faces? How do we know? Guilty until proven innocent seems to be the fun de jour.

I haven't seen the circumstances myself but I've been to the Everglades. The thought of all the bugs alone makes me itch. Can't keep them out of these facilities.
A cage with 32 men and 3 toilet/sinks is adequate?
So who's reporting objectively?
People are being held their against their will, without due process.
Why is anyone making excuses for that?

1. They were holding areas for 72 hours. How long will the current prisoners in Florida be held?
2. Were the prisoners in Obama's prisons afforded due process?
