I don't recall labeling you as a "denier". I wouldn't know. The only point of my post is to highlight that reduction in AGW is every individual's responsibility, no matter what others are doing - on a national, local or personal level.OK, but the US and some other nations are reducing their GHG emissions, while China is profiting from those efforts while increasing their own (thus global) GHG emissions.
Labelling me as a ‘denier‘ while I am simply pointing out those facts is ridiculous as well as dishonest. If find it hypocritical for the US to claim to be ‘going green’ while at the same time becoming more dependent on other nations (especially China) to supply the means to do so as they increase global GHG emissions in the process.
For example, just because others burn fossil fuels for recreation doesn't mean I can ever justify it in my life. I don't care how many people might own one, but I will never own a jet ski, a snowmobile, a dirt bike, a power boat, or anything for "fun" at the expense of my planet and humanity's future. I don't care how many people might use one, but I will never own and operate a gas powered leaf blower, snowblower, lawnmower, etc., just for the convenience of not moving my ass. And speaking of my ass, if I ever own a car again, I will never turn it on to idle in the winter, just to heat up my seat. When I'm once again forced to own a car to get around - (I live in a city with lots of mass transit options, and gave up my car back in 2010) - I sure as **** won't buy some gas guzzling SUV when I know there are vehicles out there that get 50-60+ mpg and more. They may be a lot more comfortable, but if my comfort ever became enough justification for unnecessarily polluting the planet, I wouldn't recognize myself in the mirror any more.
Just because others may do it, is not any reason for me to do it, too. And just as that applies to my personal life, it applies to my country as well. I expect the USA to sacrifice it's comforts, even if China never does.
