FLASHBACK: 30 years ago, Nancy Pelosi demanded Congress confront Chinese tariffs on American goods

You offer nothing remotely approaching intelligent discussion in a lengthy rant.

What Pelosi said irrefutably endorses passing a bill into law without knowing its content. That's exactly what regular order is designed to prevent.

No many how many times your lies are refuted, you continue to persist.

Your orange jesus would be very proud of you.

Your opinion. Something not shared by a lot of other Americans.
I should tell you that you’re trying to discuss tariffs with a person who didn’t know that countries like China bypass tariffs by using intermediary countries.
What’s worse is that he doesn’t care to learn more about the subject.
Believe me, I tried to tell him. He strictly a Huffington Post level poster.

Yes, I know exactly who I'm talking to. But I'll still tell him...and others like him...the facts.

Saying the Chinese economy had no worthwhile foreign investment is dishonest. Investments were in the billions, but the country's GDP was a fraction of its current size, and there was only so much return possible.

The motivation for Nancy Pelosi's tariff proposal was the same as Trump's, American industry. At the time it was textiles. Then it became consumer electronics. Now it's machinery.

Yes, tariffs have been discussed in the past, and used as well. One could support an intelligent tariff policy without needing to endorse Trump's reckless use of tariffs in his Global Trade War.
