So we have hood cats running around(believe we know the neighbor who has fostered this), and one took up residence in my lean-to for a litter.
Just became aware of them 3-4 days ago, and while 4 are fully opened eyes from first sighting, one barely getting there.

Haven't had a cat since I was probably 10. Did a little looking up on this situation. Could have been conceived days later, infection, etc...
Fine... let's go get you checked out little guy/gal. Don't really want you, but don't wish you ill.
Some antibiotic drops and see how goes.

At this point, our elder Yorkie(15 1/2) ain't gonna cope. And wife is allergic and has to take Claritin when she is cleaning someone's home with cats.
"But it's so cute! Poor little thing!" Yeah, I know, but... 😔

I mean, I like cats, but more dog people as personal pet.

Ugh.. am I gonna have to buy Pretty Litter?

Yes. There's no getting around the cat allergy. My wife has it too. Too bad because she loves cats.

Save the kittens before immigrants eat them.
Not enough meat to be worth it. I commend you for wasting no time with that comment on DP. :ROFLMAO:
But I'm an hour and a half or two from Springfield I believe.😁
Seriously, I'd take the kitten in, but you're wife has allergies so if I were you, I wouldn't push it.
I'm not pushing it. She is! I displaced it for about 30 minutes to get it checked out, administered, and put back with bros and sisses.

It turns into a cat that doesn't care about me.:D
And Claritin ain't cheap!
Studies have shown that living with a cat is good for our cardiovascular health and lowering stress, adding a dog to the mix can extend our lives by a huge amount. Saving money on medical bills will help offset the cost of Claritin, cat food & litter, plus, they're darn cute, free rodent control, and their purrs have been shown to help broken bones heal faster. Even if it doesn't like you, it's still good for your health :)

Welcome to the club! I’ve currently got a family of 4 bottle fed kittens that I’m fostering. Momma was a feral cat and a car hit her…so, I’m “Momma” for now. (Thanks to a neighbor with cameras, we found the kittens in a tire by his shed…that took a lot of looking to find them, their Momma hid them well)

They’re doing well so far…we think they’re about 3.5 weeks old.

They’re hysterical with all the wrestling, etc they’re doing with one another. And as of today, I’ve got them lapping their formula off a saucer, so we are on our way to weaning and being able to move on to forever homes! So far, I’ve got definite homes from 2, working on #3 and #4

Good luck with the little one!

Stop trying to talk me into this 1 pound of cuteness that turns into a cat! :ROFLMAO:

I like the video where it shows two pet owners and one of them falls and knocks themselves out and the dogs stay there and try to help their owner.

There's another one of a cat owner where the owner falls and knocks themselves out and the cats just eat some food and walk off.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

From looking up expectations, guessing they are somewhere around there.

Looking like I may be looking to put out a free kittens sign to try and home them in near future, rather than more running the hood.
Checked in on them. One scurried to hiding before could snap pic.
Calico on left is the one. Eyes come about halfway open.

If the cats are feral, why not just leave them alone. The mama will take care of them.

The good thing about feral cats is you don't worry about them.

They are exponential breeders that can quickly overrun an area; some people don't like their yards being used as litter boxes; they spread disease; they eat birds and can have a substantial effect on bird populations including sensitive and endangered species.

Keeps down the rat population. Keeps down the snake population if you live in the country. A win/win.

Sorry, I have a heart. If I come across an animal in need, gotta do it.
Mom could abandon due to 'defect'. Doesn't mean the kitten doesn't deserve to live.

Want a kitten? 😁

Yeah this is a horrendous take. There's an argument to be made that cats that have been feral their entire lives might be better off out there than in a home, but cats wreak havoc on ecosystems.

If they can be adopted and placed in a home they should be.

I like cats. Especially feral cats. They are on their own. Don't get me wrong, I will put some feed out once or twice a day to keep them around. But then they come and go and at times I don't see them for days. And then sometimes never again. They do their job in my opinion. I spend no money on them other than feeding once or twice a day. I live where snakes are a problem. They are priceless in curbing the snake problem.

And we have enough running the hood thanks to the 'cat lady'. Add 5 more to the mix?

We have (or they have us?) 13 feral cats, including 3 small kittens, which we supply with food and water daily. They stay outside and remain feral, but seem to appreciate the food and water.

IIR, you're pretty rural. In a little old 50s hood here. Running everywhere.
One about tangled with my old Yorkie a while back. That ain't happening.
No cats at the baa!

Our area is becoming more suburban, since we now have more people than cattle as neighbors. They catch plenty of field mice, which makes it less likely for us to encounter rattlesnakes.

Just give in. That kitten will be snuggling on your lap soon.
