Fed leaves rates steady, projects higher inflation

God does not want theocracy, much less demand it. God gave us all free will to choose to follow Him or not. So 'man's law' forcing people to do so is denying God's Will.

It's the ultimate arrogance, usurping God's Authority. It would be an enormous sin. God intended His Children to follow Him by choice, not force. That agenda goes deliberately against Him and denies His Will.
There will not be anyone in God's Theocracy that does not choose to be there...

Follow the thread, plz. I'm talking about the decline in American production of goods and services,
? American production of goods and services is as high as ever.

and employment.
? Unemployment is low. Millions of jobs have been begging for workers.

The USA is increasingly becoming a purely consumer nation that sells debt, and is thus becoming more indebted, so that its debt-servicing is rising to become the leading expenditure.
That’s what happens when you keep revenue less than expenses and is exactly what Republicans are planning to do again.

That's what Trump's tariffs are meant to address, and if you don't like that solution, then what solution do you prefer?
Tariffs put the lion’s share of the tax burden on the lower and middle classes. Income taxes put the lion’s share on those with higher incomes. Republican politicians are planning to take money from the middle and lower classes and give it to Elon Musk, Donald Trump and their buddies. I’d rather see it the other way around for a change. Unfortunately, Republican voters aren’t sophisticated enough to understand what the plan is.

Good. Just as long as they dont try to impose one, against His Will, here on earth.

Oh, it'll be on earth...any opposers won't be...

Well if God changes His Mind, fine, let me know. But again...His Authority is not to be usurped by man imposing His Will thru man's law. God gave us free will to choose to follow Him or not.

Per Nobel-winning economist Paul Krugman on why the Fed isn't lowering interest rates:

[Trump] has modified those tariffs several times since then, but it’s deeply misleading to say, as all too many news reports do, that the tariffs were “paused.”
They were reshuffled, with lower tariffs on some countries and goods but higher tariffs on others, but the overall picture remains a leap in average tariffs to levels not seen for 90 years:

[Trump's] tariffs will cause a large jump in consumer prices.
That jump isn’t visible in official price data yet, partly because many businesses rushed to hoard foreign goods before the tariffs kicked in and are still meeting consumer demand out of those stockpiles.
But the big price hikes are already happening, and will become obvious to everyone over the next few months.
Plus, a general loss of confidence in American stability and reliability has led to a weakening dollar, which makes the costs of imports even more expensive.

The Fed is waiting to see if inflation does return as expected.

Biden's blank-chequing was inflationary -- and people lapped it up, coz "free money!"
The Biden administration accounted for less than 1/3 of total pandemic stimulus. The problem with folks like yourself is you have very limited knowledge regarding political economy, so you are forced to repeat something you know little about or fall silent in the midst of the discussion. IMO, you would be better served learning about the topic instead of barging in trying to defend failure with heaps of anti-intellectual garbage.

Economic growth and inflation go hand in hand. I shouldn't have to explain this. A full-fledge recovery took place because policy makers provided enough stimulus to ensure the labor market would recover in record time. By July 2022, the U.S. labor market eclipsed its pre-pandemic high. Sure, that might have caused inflation to be 1.5% - 2.5% higher than it would have been.

That's the ****ing point. You know nothing.
No, inflationary spike was due to paying people to stay home instead of produce things
Wrong.

Supply chain disruptions were real. Reopening was real.
The goal of the tariffs is to force others to lower theirs.
That's silly.
What is your solution, if you don't like theirs? I still hear no answers on this from critics.
Who doesn't like whose?

The reason we buy things from other countries has nothing to do with their tariffs. Trump wants to make it so, but no amount of faux tough-guy acting negates the reality that his policy is a tax increase on lower and middle income America.
Tariffs are supposed to increase foreign market access for US goods & services, thus increasing their consumption abroad
That's silly. We've already seen how other nations have responded. Exports of goods have stagnated... there still hasn't been enough data and revisions for clear observation.
Next time some idiot like Fauci decides he wants to create the next killer virus by funding it with a grant, somebody lock them up
Fauci didn't create COVID-19. Furthermore, your political hero didn't take it seriously until it was already too ****ing late.

This is an example as to why you cannot have a discussion with cultists. They will lie or make up their own facts.

Lol.

Winning!

Maybe Trump can call him stupid again to motivate him to cut rates after all Trump is the master deal maker and doing that is no doubt a very effective negotiating technique
