Yet more FBI searches. At least there is some degree of transparency on this occasion.

I wonder how many more "occasions" of searching we will have among blue-collar Joe's many estates? I would put the over/under at 1.5.

The FBI is conducting a search of President Joe Biden’s home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Wednesday as a special counsel investigation into his handling of classified material begins in earnest.

“Today, with the President’s full support and cooperation, the DOJ is conducting a planned search of his home in Rehoboth, Delaware,” Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer wrote in a statement.

“Under DOJ’s standard procedures, in the interests of operational security and integrity, it sought to do this work without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate,” Bauer said. “The search today is a further step in a thorough and timely DOJ process we will continue to fully support and facilitate. We will have further information at the conclusion of today’s search.”

Reporters positioned in the coastal community observed black sport utility vehicles and sedans arriving to the home mid-morning.

The FBI search in Rehoboth marks the third known occasion that federal agents have searched properties associated with Biden to look for classified material.

The FBI previously searched Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, turning up what his lawyer described as multiple items containing classified material. That search occurred January 20.

The FBI also searched the Washington office of the Penn Biden Center in mid-November after Biden’s attorneys first discovered classified material in a locked closet at the think tank.

Biden purchased his home in Rehoboth after leaving the vice presidency. He and his wife occasionally spend weekends there, most recently from January 20 to 23.

The search comes on the day that the Justice Department announced special counsel Robert Hur officially began his job overseeing the investigation of Biden’s handling of classified documents. Hur takes over for US Attorney John Lausch who conducted an initial review that has since become a full blown criminal investigation.

Hur, who previously served as US attorney in Maryland was nominated to that position by then-President Donald Trump in 2017 and he served in the role until his resignation in 2021. In the job, Hur played a key role in a number of high-profile cases, including a children’s book scandal involving then-Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh that resulted in Pugh being sentenced to three years in prison.

He was unanimously confirmed by the Senate to the US attorney job in 2018, and at the time he received praise from both of Maryland’s Democratic senators, who expressed confidence in his ability to handle critical issues facing the state.

Prior to his time with the DOJ, Hur was a law clerk for Chief Justice William Rehnquist and also clerked for a federal appellate judge, Alex Kozinski.

This is a breaking story and will be updated."

Emphasis here.

Come on man! Biden has been given special treatment by his AG who heads the DOJ and the FBI Director in how they have handled the classified document search in his home. Each time Biden lawyers, who do not have classified clearances were allowed to search Biden residences for papers. Any number of things may have taken place, papers destroyed, papers moved, and now we know that despite their searches more documents were found several times in more locations.
The double standard in how Trump and members of his campaign or administration were treated as opposed to Biden's treatment is extremely different. Clear political prejudice is present in how the DOJ and FBI have conducted themselves. Nightime raids or dozens of FBI agents in full gear and with weapons brandishing in cases where they were not needed. TV cameras present, obviously notified prior to the raids. Two tiered system of justice for Democrats/Republicans.

I'm glad they're doing this. I recommend searches of all Trump properties, Pence properties, Obama properties and Bush family properties too.
Which is exactly what the National Archives called for last week. Also what many have been saying since this whole kerfuffle with Trump and documents. The likely fact that most of these folks probably technically have things they shouldn't.

It's true, they could have destroyed documents to hide the issue.

But they didn't.

Wonder why the CNN cameras weren't there to catch everything as it unfolded?

So the FBI isn't corrupt? The DOJ isn't protecting Biden? I'm lost.

I'm glad they're doing this. I recommend searches of all Trump properties, Pence properties, Obama properties and Bush family properties too.
I'm undecided on whether I think that's necessary or not but one thing for sure we have a problem with how classified documents are being handled. Who is taking them out and who is keeping a record of these documents. Who takes them, who views them?

Destroying documents is not that simple. At some level somebody will always leak that information.

As expected. They are thorough.
