FBI investigating Bundy supporters in BLM dispute[W:338] (1 Viewer)

.... Do you have a right to graze on land that doesn't belong to you?

I think Bundy is somehow claiming grandfathering rights to graze the lands he doesn't own. Like if you have a child born in Alaska, that child is automatically entitled to oil money paid to the child or family. If they still practice that in Alaska.

I'm anxiously awaiting his arrest and incarceration.

Repaying your student loans is fulfilling a contractual obligation. It has nothing to do with pulling your weight.

"Make a moving...?"

By the way, I also don't lose sleep when people camp in the White Mountains of NH and don't slip the fee for their campsite in the box when they pull in, and it probably happens all the time. Maybe you have more time on your hands than I do to worry about things like this.

Sorry "make a living". Autocorrect.

I worry about every idiot that leeches off of the system. And yes, there's a contract, as many people have told you.

Me too.

In the meantime, I hope not too many people start commercially harvesting timber in state forests by refusing to sign a user contract, and then taking the recesources anyways. If they are told "no", they just some some armed followers.

So if the government has him in breach of contract, why haven't they gone after him? It seems like your issue is with your lawmakers and law enforcers.

Did you not see them go after him? Wasn't that what the whole thing was about? The feds came after him?

I thought he had been sued multiple times by the feds?

Well...when they tried to force him to collect, a bunch of wannabe badasses got their guns and threatened to make it violent, remember?

And now people are whining that the FBI is investigating them.

No idea. If he has, and they haven't collected anything or jailed him yet, that's more their fault than ever.

I think that well intentioned citizens picked the wrong fight in supporting Bundy and discredit the idea of government over reach where it really does exist. And like you, I don't understand why he hasn't been jailed on Pryor convictions.

Richard Pryor? :shock::lol:

Like much of anything else, a lease or rental people pay fees on, you either pay and stay, if you don't, you won't. It's basically simple for people who haven't figured that out. I mean, if you have electric and gas service to a home or apartment, you pay for that service, if one doesn't then they're cut off.

I don't know why that's so hard for a lone rancher who's been doing this it seems forever to one day just up and say, I'm not paying anymore, and you can't take the land back and re-purpose it even when he doesn't own it. It's like squatting on land that isn't his. I don't understand the man and his reasoning at all. He sure did dig a deeper hole for himself though.

In a WAPO article, one rancher was already imprisoned for the very same thing, he also has to pay fines.

Now here's an interesting quote from a member;

No, the rangers usually try to collect the fees once they see a camper squatting in a spot they have not paid for, sometimes the camper becomes belligerent and things escalate to armed confrontation, even death.

This is true and those terrorists started stopping people in the area and demanding to see their papers. Why the military hasn't crushed this terrorist insurrection is beyond me.

That reminds me a lot of a situation I've heard of in Nevada.. let's see.. someone using public land, refusing to pay for it, and bringing on an armed confrontation... who was that again?

Because of the constitutional amendment freedom of speech and all that stuff. Can't stop people from demonstrating, but the gubbermint can arrest people for not paying their bills and obstruction of justice. The only reason the gubbermint didn't escalate the situation is because they want this to be resolved peacefully. Not at gunpoint.

All true. Wish that would have ruled the day in Waco and Ruby Ridge.

True, I think the fed learned some hard lessons from those. They probably don't wish to repeat because of the lives lost and public outrage over them.

Another thing I don't understand is why these militia people dragged their women and children into the squabble.

Objectively, it is a very simple concept to figure out. But when you add subjective politics, it gets very "complex". In short, subjective politics transforms Bundy from the armed freeloader into the the sexy rancher fighting against the government. Ironically, that same crowd thinks free loading occupiers cant be sexy because they use left wing talking points.

The left did the same thing with the American Indian Movement. The more AIM spouted leftist talking points, the sexier they became to liberals. The fact that AIM's victims included a Native American woman, killed largely because she would not submit to AIM's male leadership and a black activist executed largely because he was black and was perceived to be "annoying" did not matter.

The AIMERS and Bundy's armed followers also have alot in common. Sure, the AIMERS were leftists and Bundy's followers are right wingers, but they both are big fans of armed anarchy and self exemption from obligations.

Please consider the following "logic":

-The career welfare fraudster does not cost me any money personally.
- Had she been kicked off of welfare, would my taxes have been reduced a great deal?

- Ergo, society should tolerate her theft of public recesources- right?

The only difference between Bundy and the welfare fraudsters is that Bundy is right wing (most welfare fraudsters drift left) and that Budy has managed to summon some armed, but blind ideaological followers. The welfare fraudsters have not been able to do that since the Black Panthers collapsed.

Please.... dont become one of Bundy's blind followers:

Dear Bundy Followers,

I choose to use public recesources by taking out some student loans. Now, I am butt hurt by the fact that I must pay for those recesources. In fact, I have some kind of ancestoral right to a tax payer funded education. I have exempted myelf from those unfair loans. Who wants to protect me from the uhmmm..... "government oppressors" who want to "steal" my property... .
It's more complicated than that, but yeah give that a go, and let me know how that works out k?

I don't necessarily agree with how Bundy went about it, but from the IRS to the EPA this government is out of control.

You want to live in a quasi totalitarian socialist state? Go to Venezuela.

Charging fees for the use of public land makes the US a totalitarian socialist state?

What would allowing anyone to log, graze, or mine without restrictions or payments make it?
