With nation wide demographics stacking up against any kind of right-wing faction, the growing enmity between the Tea Party and Establishment among Republicans has me wondering about the eventual fate of the party. There's only so much gerrymandering and Voter ID laws can do to stall out the demise
Any demise will be the result of the economy, not a political party...
This is a thread about the Republican Party, not the United States as a whole.

There's only so much gerrymandering and Voter ID laws can do to stall out the demise, and the two sides won't be able to share power much longer with their constituents making such contradictory demands.

Is this some sort of fascination for you? What do you think happens when there is only one party?
Count My Vote launches effort for direct Utah primaries | The Salt Lake Tribune"...The kickoff press conference Wednesday at the Capitol was also attended by former Gov. Norm Bangerter, former first lady Norma Matheson, former House Speaker Dave Clark, and current Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams and Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker.
Opponents contend the Count My Vote effort is being led by deep-pocketed, old-guard politicians desperate to hang on to power and is derisively referred to as "Buy My Vote."....read...."

It's certainly not the party I remember from my "youth", nor is it the party it was 20-30 years ago. I liked it better then. I despise it now; but I also despise the democratic party, which is certainly not the party it was 20-30 years ago. Eventually a new party may emerge that I actually like, or republicans/democrats might actually stop working for the good of the party and return to working for the good of the nation.

How do you lean liberal?

Knowledge of history would be your friend...
How do you lean liberal?
One party? As with 1860--1912, except with the G. Cleveland burp, with a Repub congress tho.
No, really, your comments that I have read seem antagonistic towards liberal ideology. How do you define liberal?
I'm hoping the moderate and old guard republicans and blue dog democrats form a new party. I can already see signs of it starting to happen in republican controled Utah......

I don't define liberal. It has already been defined...
