"The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv announced the start of fundraising for a monument to the ideologist and theorist of the Ukrainian nationalist movement of the 20th century Stepan Bandera.
He urged residents of his city and all citizens of Ukraine to donate funds to the monument, which will subsequently be donated to the Ukrainian city of Konotop, located about a hundred kilometers from the Russian border, in the east of the country.

“OUN leaders Andriy Melnyk and Bandera were recruited before World War II into the Nazi Germany military intelligence Abwehr for espionage, counter-espionage and sabotage. Their goal was to run diversion activities after Germany's attack on the Soviet Union. Melnyk was given code name 'Consul I'. This information is part of the testimony that Abwehr Colonel Erwin Stolze gave on 25 December 1945 and submitted to the Nuremberg trials, with a request to be admitted as evidence.[43][44]

In the spring of 1941, Bandera held meetings with the heads of Germany's intelligence, regarding the formation of "Nachtigall" and "Roland" Battalions. In spring of that year the OUN received 2.5 million marks for subversive activities inside the USSR.[41][45][46]

Gestapo and Abwehr officials protected Bandera followers, as both organizations intended to use them for their own purposes.[47]

On 30 June 1941, with the arrival of Nazi troops in Ukraine, Bandera and the OUN-B declared an independent Ukrainian State ("Act of Renewal of Ukrainian Statehood").[48] This declaration was accompanied by violent pogroms.[48] Some of the published proclamations of the formation of this state say that it would "work closely with the National-Socialist Greater Germany, under the leadership of its leader Adolf Hitler which is forming a new order in Europe and the world and is helping the Ukrainian People to free itself from Moscovite occupation." – as stated in the text of the "Act of Proclamation of Ukrainian Statehood".[41][46]”

Maybe next the mayor can put up a statue of Heinrich Himmler

They wound up fighting for the Germans again.

“In April 1944, Bandera and his deputy Yaroslav Stetsko were approached by a Reich Main Security Office official to discuss plans for diversions and sabotage against the Soviet Army.[51]

In September 1944[52] Bandera was released by the German authorities, and collaboration between OUN and Nazi Germany resumed at several levels;[48] it continued until the end of the war.[48] With German consent, Bandera set up headquarters in Berlin.[53]”

So apparently he wasn’t particularly ill treated considering he was more than willing to continue working with the Nazis.

“Glory to Hitler! Glory to Bandera!”

Not only that, but even after the war former SS men worked for him.

“Bandera himself was the target of an extensive and aggressive search carried out by CIC.[56] It failed having described the objective as "extremely dangerous" and "constantly en route, frequently in disguise".[57] Some American intelligence reported that he even was guarded by former SS men.[58] His organization perpetrated many crimes, including hundred of thousands of murders,[48] counterfeiting, and kidnapping.”

Bandera cultivated German military circles favorable to Ukrainian independence, and organized OUN expeditionary groups. When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union he prepared the 30 June 1941 Proclamation of Ukrainian statehood in Lviv.[3] For his refusal to rescind the decree, Bandera was arrested by Gestapo, which put him under house arrest on 5 of July 1941[4] and later, between 1942 and 1943,[5] sent him to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.[6] In 1944, with Germany rapidly losing ground in the war in the face of the advancing Allied armies, Bandera was released, in the hope that he would be instrumental in deterring the advancing Soviet forces. He set up the headquarters of the re-established Ukrainian Supreme Liberation Council, which worked underground. He settled with his family in West Germany where he remained the leader of the OUN-B and worked with several anti-communist organizations such as the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations[7][8] as well as with the British intelligence agencies.[7] Fourteen years after the end of the war, in 1959, Bandera was assassinated by KGB agents in Munich

You missed the relevant part(s)

He can’t have possibly been particularly ill treated if he was willing to go right back to happily working with the Nazis....which is what he did.

"He can’t have possibly been particularly ill treated" OK, 2 more questions : do you have siblings ? are close ?

He literally worked enthusiastically with the Nazis for years even after being released.

He worked enthusiastically with the Nazis up to the minute they were crushed....and then he continued to work with former SS well after the war until he met the fate all Nazi collaborators deserved—death.

Oh look, you still haven’t provided any evidence for Putin wanting to invade Poland.

“ The 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galician) is today honored by many Ukrainian nationalists.[58] Since 2010 every year on April 28 a march is held to celebrate the foundation of the division.[59] In addition streets were named after the division in Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukrains`koi Dyvizii Street) and Ternopil (Soldiers Division "Galicia" Street).[60]”

Stalin wasn’t a Nazi, first off. He was a communist. Big difference between the two.

Secondly, you’ve posted that idiotic comment without any evidence five times now. It’s almost like your pathological hatred is getting in the way of reality. Oh wait.....

Thirdly, considering the celebration of Nazi collaborators across the Ukraine, you don’t really have any room to call anyone else a Nazi.

Big difference between the two.
really? forms of mustache ?

Stalin killed more Ukrainians than Hitler killed Jews, says congressman | The Times of Israel

and you are a stalinst , right?

No buddy, I’m not a Stalinist. I get that to people who see the Nazis and their collaborators as heroes anyone who opposes them is a “Stalinist” but that isn’t the real world.

Hitler killed his victims in a tiny fraction of the time Stalin did. Had we and the Soviets not smashed your heroes he would have far exceeded their death toll.

Citation for "working enthusiastically"?

Or was he merely playing the hand he was dealt?

He continued to work with the Nazis even after being tossed in a camp.

That is more than “playing the hand that one is dealt”

That is enthusiastic ideological collaboration.

“ Hostility to both the Soviet central government and the Jewish minority were highlighted at the OUN-B's Conference in Kraków in May 1941, at which the leadership of Bandera's OUN faction adopted the program "Struggle and action of OUN during the war" (Ukrainian: "Боротьба й діяльність ОУН під час війни") which outlined the plans for activities at the onset of the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union and the western territories of the Ukrainian SSR.[60] The program declared that:
The Jews in the USSR constitute the most faithful support of the ruling Bolshevik regime, and the vanguard of Muscovite imperialism in Ukraine. The Muscovite-Bolshevik government exploits the anti-Jewish sentiments of the Ukrainian masses to divert their attention from the true cause of their misfortune and to channel them in a time of frustration into pogroms on Jews. The OUN combats the Jews as the prop of the Muscovite-Bolshevik regime and simultaneously it renders the masses conscious of the fact that the principal foe is Moscow.[69]”

“ Section G of the program – "Directives for organizing the life of the state during the first days" (Ukrainian: "Вказівки на перші дні організації державного життя") outlined activity of the Bandera followers during mid-1941.[61] In a subsection on "Minority Policy", the leaders of OUN-B ordered:
Moskali [i.e. ethnic Russians], Poles, and Jews that are hostile to us are to be destroyed in struggle, particularly those opposing the regime, by means of: deporting them to their own lands, eradicating their intelligentsia, which is not to be admitted to any governmental positions, and overall preventing any creation of this intelligentsia (e.g. access to education etc)... Jews are to be isolated, removed from governmental positions in order to prevent sabotage... Those who are deemed necessary may only work under strict supervision and removed from their positions for slightest misconduct... Jewish assimilation is not possible.[70][71][72]
Later in June, Yaroslav Stetsko sent to Bandera a report in which he stated "We are creating a militia which will help to remove the Jews and protect the population."[73][74] Leaflets spread in the name of Bandera in the same year called for the "destruction" of "Moscow", Poles, Hungarians and Jewry.[75][76][77] In 1941–1942 while Bandera was cooperating with the Germans, OUN members did take part in anti-Jewish actions. German police at 1941 reported that "fanatic" Bandera followers, organised in small groups were "extraordinarily active" against Jews and communists.[78]”

" I’m not a Stalinist. " thats why you dont have a chance, you say i am not a Stalinist. but i like what he did, respect koba , etc, that fact that you can not say the truth just indicate the weakens of your position.

read this book , you are like 98 years old , but still Jesus can still save your soul from satanist (Marxism, commie- stalinism) fire in the hell

Americans call the Second World War “The Good War.” But before it even began, America’s wartime ally Josef Stalin had killed millions of his own citizens—and kept killing them during and after the war. Before Hitler was finally defeated, he had murdered six million Jews and nearly as many other Europeans. At war’s end, both the German and the Soviet killing sites fell behind the iron curtain, leaving the history of mass killing in darkness.
Bloodlands is a new kind of European history, presenting the mass murders committed by the Nazi and Stalinist regimes as two aspects of a single history, in the time and place where they occurred: between Germany and Russia, when Hitler and Stalin both held power. Assiduously researched, deeply humane, and utterly definitive, Bloodlands will be required reading for anyone seeking to understand the central tragedy of modern history.

I like that he utterly crushed the Nazi scum and the pathetic collaborators who scuttled out from under their rocks and gleefully helped exterminate millions of innocent people in the name of “anti communism”.

I like that thugs like Bandera ended up in shallow graves for their role in the murder of millions of innocent people in the name of “anti communism”.

Had Hitler and his allies not been utterly destroyed—had scum like your heroes not been eradicated—-Adolf Hitler, who killed his millions in a tiny fraction of the time Stalin did, would have been able to totally annihilate Europe’s Jewish populace—-and every other group of “undesirables”.

The US shouldn’t send a single dollar of aid or a single rifle to any country which celebrates Nazi collaborators.
