The FBI has told Congress it does not need to get a warrant to conduct surveillance with drones, in a letter laying out some of the top federal law enforcement agency’s policies for how it uses unmanned aerial vehicles.
In a July 19 letter to Sen. Rand Paul, Stephen D. Kelly, assistant director for the FBI’s congressional liaison office, said the agency has used drones in 10 instances, including twice for “national security” cases and eight times for criminal cases. The FBI authorized the use of drones in three other criminal cases but didn’t deploy them.
Then, in a follow-up letter Mr. Paul released Monday, Mr. Kelly said they don’t believe they ever need to obtain a warrant to conduct drone surveillance as long as it’s done within guidelines.
What?^ More support for a totalitarian police state? Do you have any exceptions?

I fear the USA has trapped itself in bad money, bad policy, bad gov't, and the hole may be so deep that even if we stop digging it won't help. I truly worry about Corporatism. All of us trapped by Big Energy, Big Banking, and the Big Military/Industrial/Corporate complex.
Surely I cannot be the only one concerned about the fact a Senator and Presidential hopeful seems to have absolutely no knowledge of the laws regarding drone surveillance...
What?
FBI says it doesn't need warrant to use drones - Washington Times
Though Senator Paul is ostracisized for his contrarian views, we, as a people need more members of the Congress and Senate to stick their heads up and raise their voices for us and the Constitution, and not just shimmy along being a Yes Man to the system.
Drones in America is a terrible idea. We don't need 20,000 of them flying around in a decade or two, let alone, being operated by the government and police in our skies. Vote 'no' if you're ever given the chance about drones.

He means you clearly enjoy the idea of being a slave to a totalitarian government....
I don't know, but it's implied that this is a common expression of your beliefs.
But, I for one agree with you.
I think we should not have the right to speak our minds, the government should tell us what to think and believe, that they need to disarm everyone, the government needs open access to our homes at any time, we should have to answer any question even if the answer is incriminating, etc...
Of course that's what they say. They'll claim to have whatever power they want to use at the time.
It's depressing but drones are just flying cameras. Have you been watching the proliferation of cameras?
When your TV watches you, they'll have crossed the line:roll:
Ignorance Is Strenth
perhaps I am unfamiliar with drones, but how do they get through your closed front door when police cannot? This is not the NSA spying through your computer or phone, this is putting a drone in the air like a helicopter, and i am pretty sure they do not fly into your house.
Maybe you can explain to us the difference of a drone flying over head with a camera or a helicopter doing it. Armed drones are a bit different in their purpose, but drones which are merely used for surveillance are pretty much just a more technical version of what we do now. When you do something in a public place outside of a closed and sealed area you have no legitimate expectation of privacy as per the law. What you deluded yourself into thinking about your privacy is a completely different issue.
I really don't see the issue with drones. They don't do anything that conventional aircraft can't, except cost phenomenally less to operate.
An airplane can't look through your window. A drone can.
I have reduced expectation to privacy in public due to the inability to control photon scattering. But it's not zero. Just because government has abused power in the past doesn't mean that it's ok to continue along the path.
Oh, I understood what he was trying to say. I was just wondering how delusional a person would have to be to think my comment had anything to do with a totalitarian government. He means you clearly enjoy the idea of being a slave to a totalitarian government....
