It is the far right of European politics based on xenophobia and anti-immigration feelings.
.
You all are wrong. The Island is 500 miles from Olso. Look at google maps satilite image of the Uytoa Island in Rossvetnet lake. It is the exact shape and distance from shore as the one they are showing on the news.
Okay I have read back almost 3 years of his rantings.
He sounds like quite a few of the right wingers on these boards. Does this sound familiar?
Islam has historically killed 300 million people
Communism has historically killed 100 million people
Nazism has historically killed 6-20 million people.
Kinda chilling.
He is against multiculturalism, dislikes the UN as he sees them as forcing multiculturalism on countries with its refugee policies. He blames Muslims and left wingers for everything and is a cultural conservative. He also rambles on how weak the "conservative" parties have become in Norway (including the party he was a member off) and Europe and that if they implemented the strict cultural conservative views he had, then people would flock to them.
He believes his church is weak (he is a protestant, baptised at 15 by his own choice) and wants "back to basics".. he even hints on wanting Norway to become Roman Catholic again...
He also mentions his admiration of Lou Dobbs for standing up to the political correct mass media over illegal immigration in the US.
Also he left the party because he thought they were too political correct and weak on cultural and immigration policies... which is impressive considering their official policies.
There is much more but would take a lot of time to jot down.
I'm just curious as to how you came to your conclusion? The first link doesn't state anything about his beliefs that I saw. The last one had this.
There are signs the local farmer, 32, may have had right-wing, Christian fundamentalist views
Is this not what the media did with the Giffords episode but then had to wipe the egg from their faces? The article states *may*, you state *fact*.
And the far left was able to impose its ideas without public participation and their response to the consequences is to blame it on "the far right of European politics based on xenophobia and anti-immigration feelings". This is the usual response from leftists when their hair-brained schemes run awry. Their history is peppered with equal mixes of farce and vanity, and they're always are shocked at the inevitably disastrous results from their theories..
They apparently could not foresee the idea that people would protest at losing their culture and liberties. Instead the left came up with another of their Grand Plans that would eventually fall into place with everyone happy and content with the new European order. And in fact, they even promised that it would be a counterweight to the Americans. That's a combination of xenophobia, arrogance, propaganda and political nativity in itself.
What happened in Norway was insane and we should never allow excuses for these ugly and inhumane actions. But perhaps lessons can be learned from this tragedy regarding those who feel they are intellectually superior to 'the masses', and go on to decide and dictate what's best for them. There will always be the law of equal and opposite reaction, as well as that of unintended consequence.
Just one clarification... when I say right winger then it is a rather large segment. I based the comment on the fact that it was left wing youth and a left wing government buildings that were attacked. I had no idea at the time how far he might be on the right wing, but from what we know now, it is pretty far out there.
So this guy is on the far far right wing and is a small minority. The old fashioned right wing (democrats or moderate Republicans in US speak) are by far the largest portion of the right wing in Europe. Now there are overlapping political views of the far far right and the traditional right but that is mostly on the economic front and certain social aspects. Where they differ is often on cultural and immigration issues and in some cases religious. This guy is closer to the Neo Nazies than the traditional right wing, but never the less his political views almost solely belong on the right wing of the political spectrum. Oh and he is also a big time nationalist...
You sound like a leftist trying to justify an Islamic terrorist act. They'd also place a little caveat at the end saying they disagree with the act itself, but it never would have happened if it weren't for the governments policies.

Look here as well (Massacre suspect is Norwegian : Views and News from Norway).
O.K.
Speculation was rising that he’s linked to right-wing extremists, not Islamic terrorists.
Again I'll ask, how do you get "facts" out of speculation? Is this not the very thing that was done in the Giffords shooting? Speculation that lead to accusations that lead to making many people look pretty foolish?
Here is my speculation. We are going to find a mentally unstable individual who espoused many wacky beliefs.
Ummm why is that?
Step one:
1.Buy a knock of uniform.
2.Gun
3.We know the rest sadly...
I know this is off topic but, why does a political party have a youth camp?
Seems wrong.
The Nazis called it the, "Hitler Youth". Not sure what the Nors call it. The only way for Leftist ideology to prosper is through education.
Naziism and is not far left - they are the extreme right wing. Communism is far left. One of the first radical things Hitler did was purge the Communists in Germany. He took back German properties from France and other nations that were stipulations as part of the Treaty of Versailles, but industries were not collectivized.
The gunman in this case is clearly attacking the left. Please get your facts straight.

Extreme left, extreme right-the millions of dead bodies don't care

I suppose in your opinion the College Republicans, the Teenage Republicans, and the Young Republicans organization are excluded from your judgements for no reason other than they agree with your political persuasion.
Actually just repeating what the expert on the Murdoch owned Sky News... you know.. same company as Fox News..
The facts? Communism and Facism are both based on socialism. Before Musssolini and Hitler were facists, they were socialists.
apdst said:Another fact? This wasn't, "attacking the left". It was most probably an attack on the government and there isn't much Right Wing government in Norway. Even the, "Right", is Leftist, by American standards.
