I'm watching the live feed of the 10/7 protest in NYC.

Its a large turnout.

Do all these zeros realize that if you are a homosexual in GAZA you are in a tight spot?

Its a crime.

'If you are gay, you should be hiding. It’s so hard. I was so scared. Scared from everything you know?'

The militant group Hamas has controlled the Gaza Strip for 15 years, taking ownership of the land in less than three days. As a result, being part of the LGBT community in Gaza is a crime, and members are constantly at risk.

Abdul, whose name was changed for his safety, spoke to i24NEWS about his experience living as a gay man in Gaza, growing up in a refugee camp under the group's rule.

"There are many people gay in the Gaza Strip, and they are in Hamas also. If you are gay, you should be hiding. It’s so hard. I was so scared. Scared from everything you know? Scared of getting hit, of getting kidnapped. I was so afraid. I was afraid Hamas would find out I was gay."

When Abdul was 17, Hamas caught him having sex with his boyfriend, imprisoning him for three days.

"They put me in a tiny room that was two-by-two meters. They wouldn’t let me sleep or go to the bathroom inside. There was no food. They would torture me so badly," he told i24NEWS.

I doubt even Abdul believes the solution to that is for Israel to indiscriminately murder everyone in Gaza.
lol... He was in fear of being murdered by Hamas for being gay.

How is a protest in NYC related to the unjust treatment of a specific person or group by Hamas?
I get the impression that you are trying to imply it somehow justifies the actions the protestors are protesting.

It doesn't.

It doesn't make them entirely correct, either...there is a ton of disinformation and misinformation from both Hamas and Israel about that conflict.

So supporting a group regardless of the reason is OK even though they persecute and harm gays?

I'm not on board with that.

Hey, lets take to the streets and protest Israels war against HAMAS

===================

The website declares, “Living as a Queer person in Gaza is punishable by torture and death by Hamas, the rulers of Gaza,” and “There is no transgender population in Gaza because any trans person who lives openly will be hunted down by Hamas.”

The Equality Campaign Inc. created a website called “Queer in Gaza" that states “Learn the Facts about Hamas' treatment of LGBT Palestinians.”

The website declares, “Living as a Queer person in Gaza is punishable by torture and death by Hamas, the rulers of Gaza,” and “There is no transgender population in Gaza because any trans person who lives openly will be hunted down by Hamas.”

Well look at you pretending to care about gays…

I didn't say that.

And the answer (or at least mine) is no.

But it also doesn't justify supporting Israel's actions in Gaza or elsewhere, or at least not the ones that seem to be causing unnecessary harm to civilians, property, and infrastructure.

I know that Israel's current leadership apparently deems it necessary, but I question their objectivity on the matter.

My point is those who are protesting haven't thought things through.

The far right and other international Republicans are pro-LGBTQ now? Welp, didn't call that one.

I think they have, they just came to different conclusions than you did.
It is entirely possible that they have been influenced partially or entirely by disinformation and/or misinformation, given how much of those are swirling around, with multiple entities in the area generating it.

But, I think, the core reason is that they don't like seeing people bombed, and want it to stop. The justifications from Israel, the claims from Hamas, the lies from both, all of this is just noise that attempts to sway opinion one way or the other. The core fact that people are dying who would not if the conflict wasn't happening remains.

Edit: And Israel, as the party who is causing most of the bombing in the area, is thus the target of their protest.

You think I want to see gays killed?

No...no I don't.
Gays are persecuted and killed in many countries. Funny how you only care in this case.

To be fair, its only this case we see so many protesting in NYC live on TV.

How can they pledge support for a group who commits such atrocities on gays?

Because it's being bombed.

Edit: Or more precisely, because due to the conflict, civilians are being killed.

Wasn't even on my Bingo card 😒

For you, perhaps, but for those who are protesting said bombing, clearly it is.
And we are back to square one.

That's because they haven't thought it through.

That's because they haven't thought it through.
And what is the conclusion you expect them to reach if they do "think it through?"

Should we welcome him into our country?
