... So Cosby just drugs women and calls cabs for them once they wake up?
https://tv.yahoo.com/news/ex-nbc-employee-claims-helped-bill-cosby-pay-184342015.html
Any way this plays out, it doesn't look good for America's dad. Best case scenario involves this being a case of a man paying off women to keep quiet about his affairs. Worst case scenario and he sexually assaulted some of them and paid them to keep quiet. There is also the possibility that 15 women, who Bill Cosby was giving money to for no particular reason, decided to create a narrative of sexual assault allegations before and after his pound cake speech. Finally, there is a possibility that Bill Cosby was making studio accountants give money away to women who didn't work for the studio.
However it plays out, the America's dad image is pretty much destroyed. Now, before people go on and say he made this up: I understand why people would be inclined to think that the women made this up. However: What does a man have to gain by admitting he helped Cosby pay off these women?
... So Cosby just drugs women and calls cabs for them once they wake up?
Did she say he raped her? Did she say he touched her genitals? Did she tell him to stop touching her, and did she say where he touched her?
That's not what I asked. I asked you: Do you believe Cosby just drugs women, watches them sleep and then has a cab ready for when they wake up?
Well, in a lot of these cases, the statute of limitations has expired. However, if he keeps quiet long enough, there is one case he could potentially avoid having to go to court for as long as the claimant decides she doesn't want to go to court. There is also the issue that the allegations occurred in different places and each jurisdiction has different degrees of sexual assault as well as different statute of limitations as well as other crimes these allegations could fall under.
With that said, the possibility of this going to trial is hindered by first and foremost time. If we are to believe some of the men on this forum, rape becomes less rapey after a certain time has passed. Then, there are the allegations that many of these women are doing it for.... the fame? I'm not sure what long term fame is supposed to come from coming out as a rape victim. Then, there is Cosby's power and celebrity capital. Who wants to prosecute America's dad? Who wants to be the investigator having to walk around NBC offices asking people about the probability of Fat Albert being a rapist? Who wants to be photographed escorting Dr. Huxtable to prison?
It seems that if Bill Cosby plays his cards right and maintains his silence, he could potentially avoid this ever getting to a court for various reasons (among them, lack of evidence, missing evidence, sloppy police investigations). However, the damage is already there. He's being smacked around by all these allegations and he's not saying one word in his defence. That doesn't look good for a man who has an opinion on everything.
I don't speculate on what happened some place where I wasn't.
You can do that all you want if it makes you happy.
Do you have any proof of these "rapes" occurring?
Now, what you do and don't speculate is pretty obvious. You seem to be under the impression that pointing out that the word rape wasn't used is a sign of something. Now, with that said, I'll ask you one last time: Do you believe Cosby drugged women, then did nothing, and finally had a cab ready for them when they woke up?
Do you believe Cosby drugged women?...
then did nothing?
and finally had a cab ready for them when they woke up?
Yes, not using the word "rape" means the women didn't use the word rape.
Once again you want me to say what happened decades ago in a place where I wasn't? I don't play that game. You can speculate all you want and get excited about the media bandwagon and spend all day wondering what Bill Cosby did. I'm not a gossip monger. I'll wait for some evidence of what happened.
Don't know...Is there any toxicology screens to show this was the case, or is it he said, she said?
Is there proof beyond someones 25 year old word? Rape kit?
Oh, he provided a ride home? What a crime....I say fry him.
So it is irrelevant to point it out? Glad you admit it.
Nope, I'm asking you for your opinion on what you think happened between women being drugged and Bill Cosby having a cab ready for them when they woke up.
You have statute of limitations on rape and sexual assault?
For those who think time negates rape, they need another think. First, men get raped and it is the same there, the societal image that the victim must have somehow provoked it PREVENTS victims from coming forward sometimes forever. Some studies indicate that less than 20% of all sexual assaults ever get reported. Personally I find this situation an outrage. A grand jury should be convened to determine if these women are telling the truth, if not off THEY go, if so, off with his nuts
Toxicology screens from... 25+ years ago? Lol. What are you? 12?
Rape kits from 20-25 years ago? Most jurisdictions didn't even have them in 1999 because they refused to pay for the costs.
My opinion on what happened in a room where I wasn't. Okay. Why don't you ask me my opinion on what Goshin is wearing right now or my opinion on how many times Angelina Jolie brushed her teeth yesterday or my opinion on the color of your computer. In fact, why don't we all just spend our days guessing about things we have no idea about. Fun!
We're not discussing Goshin, my computer and that you're trying to distract from the topic is pretty see through. We're discussing allegations of rape against Bill Cosby. That's why I'm not asking you about Goshin.
You don't even know that doing tests on rape victims happened before 1999? Seriously?
As of May 2009 the federal Violence Against Women Act of 2005 went into effect,[6] requiring state governments who wish to continue receiving federal funding to pay for "Jane Doe rape kits" or "anonymous rape tests". These tests allow victims too traumatized to go to the police to undergo the procedure at hospitals. The hospitals maintain the collected evidence in a sealed envelope identified only by a number, unless police access its contents upon the victim's decision to press charges. While the practice had been recommended by the Federal Bureau of Investigation since at least 1999, and was already followed at some health clinics, colleges and hospitals, and in the state of Massachusetts, many jurisdictions up until then refused to pay the estimated $800 cost of the rape examination without a police report filed by the victim.[11]
1) As an indicator of how widespread this problem has become, “18 percent of unsolved alleged sexual assaults that occurred from 2002 to 2007 contained forensic evidence that was still in police custody (not submitted to a crime lab for analysis)"; 2) One major challenge is that 43% of law enforcement agencies “do not have a computerized system for tracking forensic evidence, either in their inventory or after it is sent to the crime lab"; 3) On average, 50–60% of kits test positive for biological material that does not belong to the victim; 4) Survey responses indicated that there may be some misunderstanding of the value of biological evidence. 44% of the law enforcement agencies said that one of the reasons they did not send evidence to the lab was that a suspect had not been identified. 15% said that they did not submit evidence because “analysis had not been requested by a prosecutor.”[12]
And unlike you, I don't waste my time and everyone else's speculating on something I can't possibly know.
I also don't believe someone is guilty unless he is proven guilty. Let me know when you've proven something against him. K?
That's kind of what is happening right now. People are trying to prove that he did do what they say he did and the evidence is getting stronger with each new argument. Paying off random women, drugging various women, having cabs ready for them when they wake up. That you've devolved into this childish 'Well! You haven't proven anything yet!' is pretty telling of where you stand on this issue. Now, vamoose, I don't have time for your theatrics today.
