How are we supposed to actually collect on the minerals deal without having security in Ukraine first? I'm beginning to think Trump never wanted the minerals.
 
So you think Zelensky should sign an agreement giving away half of his precious materials and receive nothing from trump in return? Putin would love to have you at the negotiating table.

As it is the agreement on Ukraine minerals going to the USA that will be signed no matter takes all those big bucks minerals out from right under Putins nose, right there in Ukraine. All Putin would have to show for his war in Ukraine is a lousy MAGA T-shirt.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention, the same thing is happening here. The administration has said they will be opening an investigation into Comey and they want to impeach judges who rule against them, exile news organizations who refuse to toe the line, they want to find some charge to level against OAC to stifle her speech. Looks like trump wants to go down the same road as Putin and Orban

The real stakeholders are those who believe in the post-WWII rules-based international order—basically, the people Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping hate. That’s why I stand with Ukraine.

This is the conclusion I'm reaching too. He wants the war to go on and the money to keep coming in. I'm to the point of wondering if the mineral deal even makes sense for the U.S. It might be best to just be done with Z altogether. If Europe wants to fund Ukraine and Z, that's up to them.

OK, how did trump do at extracting us from the war? Oh, that's right, he brought the Taliban to the US and negotiated with them directly, without any input from the Afghan government,
much like he's trying to do with Ukraine. Despite that, he was still unable to end the war and get our troops out. trump is an abject failure at deal making, yet he claims it is his strength.
 
Putin could stop the war any time he wants. He doesn't need Ukraine's permission to leave. In the current climate, any peace deal made with Russia wouldn't last much longer than a few years at best. Then the invasion would begin anew.

The mineral deal never made sense unless the US was willing to protect Ukraine's ability to harvest it over a period of years.

Not at all. Biden took the lead because up to that point, the US was still in the mode of serving as a counterbalance to Russia in Europe, which has been the status quo since the end of WW2.

Nope, that's not what I said at all, and has not been the case since the Europeans have been contributing as well. European nations have contributed $200b to the effort. Donnie Boy's $300b is a made up number not backed up in reality.
