Erica Garner (daughter of Eric Garner who died after he was being held down by officers while being arrested a couple of years ago) died this morning after having a heart attack. Whoever is running her Twitter page posted:

What?

Obviously, the family only wants to talk to black reporters.

They'll go on with Don Lemon and Joy Reid but don't expect an interview with Harris Faulkner or Jehmu Green.

In before "That's just like the KKK! Racists!" to reserve an "I told you so".

White reporters need not apply.

That's a weird way to say "when a plain-clothes NYC cop used unauthorized choke hold while hanging off of Eric Garner"

My heart and prayers go out to the family. Whatever has been said, it was out of grief.

Your statement is factually wrong. Officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

The greedy relatives started a myth that the cops choked him and he couldn't breathe.

Garner was simply out of breath due to excitement and the exertion of confronting and then fighting the officers.

His health problems, obesity and horribly poor physical condition caused his death. This matter was resolved many months ago and to try to rewrite history with talk of a "choke hold" is ludicrous.

The death of the daughter only proves there were congenital health problems.

Stop talking nonsense.

Well thank god the Grand Jury decided that cops can leap onto the back of people and choke them to death as long as they're an obese criminal selling cigarettes at a street corner.

"Greedy relatives" being a video that recorded the complete incident, and a medical examiner concluding the cause of Garner's death a "homicide" (homicide being a medical term to describe a person's death being caused by the direct actions of another person) Why a Medical Examiner Called Eric Garner'''s Death a '''Homicide''' | Time

That, along with an arm roped around his neck and being pinned down to concrete will tucker just about anyone out. His poor health and weight didn't help matters and worsened the situation but to square the blame solely on his health is dishonesty I won't stand for.

Take that up with the medical examiners who actually have studied Garner's body and labeled it a homicide due to the actions of NYPD officers.

We can disagree all day on whether or not the cops were in the right to kill a man in broad daylight with a chokehold, but to hand wave the events, and attempt to white wash what happened like the OP did is honestly appalling behavior I won't stand for.

I hope the media respects the wishes and has no white people devote any time or effort in covering this story.

May she find peace in the afterlife with her father.

Asking whites not to report her story takes makes it an issue of racism, not police conduct. Perhaps a last effort to draw attention, but ill advised. It kinda gets the conversation off on the wrong foot.

From my understanding it was Ms. Garner's and many others position that racism is what caused the conduct. Institutional racism among cops has lead to an environment that harassing and using force against people of colour is the unofficial policy. Because of White Privilege Caucasians are fundamentally treated under a different set of standards.

That is why a white man wouldn't have been chocked the same way her father was, or if he had the case would of been handeled different. BLM

So I say respect her wishes no white people report it. Any reporter of colour treat it as they would any other 27 year old that died from asthma and heart troubles. A paragraph deep in the local section right above the high school basketball scores. Give her the equality she wants.

Although I do not disagree with the sentiment, observed reality seems to throw a monkey wrench into this theory. See the innocent dead white man shot by a SWAT team in Kansas for the latest piece of evidence of that.

Not worthy of media attention at all imo...black or white...

There is always exceptions to everything. However in the 24/7 "bleeds it leads" news cycle White Cop kills Black Man stories get more traction than Cop kills Person. As long as we fight each other we will not fight those screwing all of us regardless of sex race or religion.

Yep, for ever dozen white males shot by cop we never hear about, it's the one black man shot by cop who grabs the headline. But, if you look at that list on the web of all the innocent people shot by cops during the drug war, it's mostly white males.

Nonetheless, I do not disagree that black people in general get rougher treatment by cops.

You must be incredibly ignorant.

"Homicide" includes justifiable homicide......which is exactly what this was.

Nobody is whitewashing anything and nobody cares what you won't stand for--since you obviously know nothing about the incident.

Your original claim is that the cops did not cause Eric Garner's death, now you're claiming his homicide is justice. You're dishonesty is flagrantly obviously.

Flagrantly obviously?

LOL!

Your post is drunkenly incoherently.

:D

When you feel better look up homicide.

Maybe you'll figure it out.

Clue: A coronor's judgement of homicide lays no blame.

You have no idea what would have happened to a white man under similar circumstances.

Got to say, of my short time here, this is the dumbest bull**** I have seen posted. Congrats!

Agreed. People say, and do, really odd things when they are grieving. My family is living proof of this. When my father died, my sister lost her mind for a while, and alienated the entire family. Normally, she was he favorite. Kind, loving, warm hearted.
