Elon Musk dramatically steps down from DOGE in shock move after Trump expressed private doubts

Trump and Musk are both narcastic, egomaniacs, publicly whores.. . So eventually a break up will happen.
And After what just happened in Wisconsin, neither will take the blame for the lost there... And possibly, behind the scenes they are already blaming each other.. If true, if Trump got wind of Musk blaming Trump... That will not fly...

I posted that his role would likely be greatly reduced to floor level yesterday on a different thread. It’s because he cost the republicans a ton of votes in Wisconsin yesterday.
The Wisconsin thing is just an excuse if it happens. Trump wants Musk gone because he is crowding the spotlight. Republicans want him gone because he is poster child for everything that is wrong about MAGA.

From the Daily Mail (don't shoot the messenger):

President Donald Trump has told his Cabinet and inner circle that Elon Musk is stepping back from his government role.

The Tesla and Space X founder will soon be returning to the business world, Politico reported, in a move that rattled the stock market and stunned Washington.

Musk's designation as a special government employee meant he was scheduled to step down in May but he's now leaving early in a cloud of controversy.

I didn't expect this. Did anybody?
I will believe it when I see it.

Telsa, SpaceX, and X should all still go broke.

He came in like a wrecking ball?

Now he's leaving us to pick up the pieces and try to recover.

I expect he has advisors who told him his continued public involvement would be a detriment to him.

Sharing the spotlight might also have been a factor. But I think the main factor is how effectively democratics used him as a poster child for trying to buy the Wisconsin election. People don’t like elections to be bought.

A few people here predicted this solely on the basis of Musk's propensity to hog the spotlight.

Narcissists like Trump don't like that.

I really wonder how the hell what he did was considered legal, or if it wasn't, why no one called him on it.

Is the threat of his wealth THAT powerful?

How can he quit? I thought everybody said he was president?

Well, I guess we'll just have to impeach Trump to fix all this. Somebody needs to call Al Green and get some articles printed up.
Works for me!

Oh dear....a lover's quarrel.

Yeah, all this criticism of Musk was unwarranted. It wasn't like he was violating the Constitution on a daily basis, cutting funding that Congress had approved, and acting as de facto administrator of DOGE despite the federal government lying to the Court every chance it got.

Whatevs. Nothing matters. HAHAH MAGA MAGA MAGA MAGA LOL ROFL.

I hope libs cope harder and I enjoy eating their tears...or something.

So, Musk has to step down within 130 days. What happens to DOGE? Do we just get a new Musk?

The Wisconsin AG filed suit to stop him from paying voters but the Muskrat was careful. He argued that he was paying people to sign a petition against “activist judges “ or to become spokespeople. The AG lost the case.

Special government employees are permitted to work for the federal government for "no more than 130 days in a 365- day period," according to data from the Office of Government Ethics. Musk's 130-day timeframe, beginning on Inauguration Day, runs dry May 30.

more crazy liberal hate news circulating today I see ....... Musk was never going to be around for years
Since when does the rapey felon's admin follow the laws?

My belief is that among the reasons for him to step down is that the board of Tesla told him that if he didn't they would fire him as CEO.
By the way, he got the CEO job in the first place through a coup in which he usurped the actual founders of Tesla. There is a lot more reason to fire his ass than there was to make him boss in the first place.

Two for the price of one. We can call it Double Liberation Day...pun intended.

I think Musk needs to return to minding his own businesses. It's also clear he really isn't a political positive beyond the base so I am not surprised but I am skeptical he really butts out.
Yeah, this is a "I'll believe it when I see it" sort of thing. But it is being picked up by the media.

I'm not sure how this wasn't expected given what's happened politically and at Tesla. You'll notice that Tesla stock rebounded due to the story you cited.

I don't think I ever got an answer to this but is he an American citizen?

I know he's a Canadian citizen, something the Great White North would like to change but is he a naturalized American?

What does crazy liberal have to do with any of this ?

the article

(that's not a fact, its projection/guessing/rumor or just made up)

The Tesla and Space X founder will soon be returning to the business world, Politico reported, in a move that rattled the stock market and stunned Washington.

(it didn't shock or rattle - those are words used to make an alledged story seem more valid)

Musk's designation as a special government employee meant he was scheduled to step down in May but he's now leaving early in a cloud of controversy.

(no, he's not, that again is pure created speculation and isn't fact at all)

That's exactly right. Who is Musk to root around looking for fraud, waste and abuse if congress specifically legislated for fraud, waste and abuse. It's fraud, waste and abuse that saves democracy!!!! We need more of it and more criminals on our streets...and less electric vehicles...and we need to kill off private industry because productive people suck.

More protest! More fraud! More waste! More crime! More drugs! THAT is how we make America great again!!!

A very MAGA post. Good job.

"He became a naturalised US citizen in 2002, according to a recent biography."
