Elon Musk says he wants to buy twitter to turn it into a "free speech" site.

Ok that's his choice. He can do that.

Now the far right is in love with him and some want him to run for president.

I have to shake my head because these are some of the same people who went on and on in the Obama years about natural born citizens.

Yet now, they want Musk, who was born in South Africa, to be president.

They don't even know that it's impossible.

If this is the level of intelligence of those on the right, this nation is in very big trouble.

 
I am pretty sure by now that you can just identify with wanting to be something and the rules change.
 
It’s weird how the oil-loving climate change skeptic far righters are so in love with someone whose first and primary career ambition remains the elimination of fossil fuels to combat man-made climate change. I have to admit, I didn’t see that coming. Fortunately we can use this to start getting them thinking about electrification. As far as far-right Messiahs go, Musk is an arrogant ass, but he’s worlds better than their current deities, Trump and Carlson. I’m cool with the upgrade.

If we play this correctly and get the far right like @Queen Margo to go all-in on Elon Musk as their new North Star, we might convince them that vaccines don’t have chips, manmade climate change is real, and there is no massive election or electoral fraud. Sure they’ll still carelessly cast pedophilia aspersions in every direction (Musk has a MTG-level track record…) but it’s still a tremendous improvement.

We shouldn’t fight this. We should embrace it.

I am not the least bit surprised that some folks posting on Twitter have no idea that Elon Musk was foreign born and/or what the constitutional requirements for POTUS are.

As a conservative and a fan of Elon Musk, while I like what he is doing with Twitter, I hope he never runs for president or congress. I think he is much more useful running Space X and Tesla and should continue doing so.

I guess you haven't read the constitution either.

Sure a new amendment can be passed.

Let me know when you can get any politician to write that new amendment, then get two thirds of both houses of congress to pass it, then get the president to sign it, then finally get two thirds of the states to pass it.

Have fun with that.

He can run for any other political office he wants in the US.

He can't run for president.

I hope that he does get the far right to start to embrace electric vehicles, start getting vaccinated and stop saying there was election fraud but I'm not going to hold my breath.
 
When he doesn't reinstate DJT's account the right will drop him like a hot potato.

I’m optimistic. The far right is falling in love with a man who donated generously to Obama, backed Andrew Yang in the 2020 campaign, and believes in an universal basic income. You just can’t make this stuff up!

The left and center need to embrace this, fully. Musk could do what no Democrat could: stamp out the Q from the GOP.

I know I'm not scared of him.

I'm disgusted and sad to see so many Americans who don't know what's in the constitution even though they spent 8 years attacking Obama saying he wasn't a natural born citizen, now want a man who isn't a natural born citizen to be president.

The posts go on and on as if they don't know anything about our constitution or what they did for 8 long years and some continue to do today.

elon musk will not run for president. He will never be able to run for president. He isn't a natural born citizen.

The only reason why the far right wants him to run is because they think that he will allow trump back on twitter.

They certainly don't agree with a lot of what elon musk has said and done for the last decade or so. In fact the far right has spent the last decade or so attacking electric vehicles and anything that was remotely affiliated with it.

He's also a globalist. Which is what the far right has been saying they hate for years yet love globalist donald trump and his family.

But now, they love elon musk. The globalist who helped make the electric vehicle mainstream in the USA.

From 2008 until this day the far right has been insisting they would only accept a natural born citizen as president and anyone wasn't a natural born citizen could ever properly be our leader. Yet now, they want a man who isn't a natural born citizen to be president.

They did the same thing with arnold schwarzenegger too.

Where is schwarzenegger today and how does the far right feel about him now?

It just seems to me the far right runs from one fad to another. Not long ago it was schwarzenegger. Today it's musk.

Who will it be tomorrow?

Yes, it's not easy to pass an amendment and it will be impossible to pass an amendment allowing those who aren't natural born citizens to be president.

The republicans are nuts and don't know that a new amendment to the constitution must be passed and they don't know the requirements to pass it.

It's shameful that today in the US so many people don't know what's in our constitution or if they do, don't care and ignore it.

Those same people certainly knew about the natural born citizen requirement in the Obama years and dishonestly claimed he wasn't born in the US. Even through they had no proof of their claims. Even though there is a US birth certificate and the republican politician who was governor of Hawaii when Obama was president said he was born in Hawaii, they went on and on claiming Obama wasn't a natural born citizen and insisted anyone who wasn't a natural born citizen should ever be our president.

Yet they changed their tune quickly for arnold schwarzenegger and are now changing their tune for elon musk.

TBH, I have learned more about my government in the time that I have been active here, than at any earlier time.

My grammar, punctuation, spelling and syntax have also improved.
