Pawlenty Drops 2012 Presidential Bid - FoxNews.com
I predict that all the more moderate candidates will drop out of the race...except romney.
The best obama can hope for is that Bachman or Perry win the gop primary...that will give him his best chance at a second term....which i believe will be quite difficult or near impossible
Looks to me like it's going to come down to a race between Romney and Perry.
In the end it probably will. They are the best candidates of the bunch. We'll see if Perry stands up to the pressure of the increased attention he'll get as an instant front runner (or near the front anyway).
It was only a matter of time before Pawlenty dropped out, though I expected him to at least last until the actual caucus before that.
I don't think Perry will stand up to the extra scrutiny. There's a lot of crazy in his background.
Well, he was the Texas chairman of Al Gore's campaign.
That whole secession thing will hurt a presidential campaign. Why would America want to elect someone to lead them who thought separating from the country was an actual option?
Ames, Iowa (CNN) -- Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty abandoned his bid for the GOP presidential nomination on Sunday after a disappointing finish in the Ames Straw Poll in Iowa.
"We needed a boost from Ames that didn't happen," Pawlenty told staff on a conference call Sunday morning, CNN learned.
Speaking to ABC's "This Week," Pawlenty said his campaign needed a lift in the straw poll.
"The pathway forward for me doesn't really exist and so we're going to end the campaign," he said.
Pawlenty finished a distant third in the poll, behind Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and Texas Rep. Ron Paul.

If you actually bothered to listen to what he said, and not jsut regurgitating the DNC talking points... You'd know he was lambasting Washington's ways, and not actually suggesting seceding.
He said he wasnt ruling it out and succession may happen in the future if the govt didnt change its ways....now how you want to take that is up to whoever reads it...it doesnt sound like he was advocating succession to me
