Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards on Friday admitted to an extramarital affair while his wife was battling cancer. He denied fathering the woman's daughter.

Edwards told ABC News that he lied repeatedly about the affair with a 42-year-old woman but said that he didn't love her. He said he has not taken a paternity test but knows he isn't the father because of the timing of the affair and the birth.

He needs to take a paternity test before he continues to make an ass of himself.

I was thinking more like Newt Gingrinch when Newt asked his wife who was in the hospital for cancer for a divorce.

After all is said and done we will have seen the following:

Ann Coulter proven wrong.
John Edwards is not a sissy. He is something else. Something less than what we even previously thought. How could he mount a presidential campaign and take of people's time, effort, money and their hopes and dreams, all the while knowing this scandal hung over his head? Hopefully, all future candidates will realize all their dirty laundry will be exposed during a campaign, so it's better that they spare themselves, their families and their supporters the grief by not running for ego's sake.

This tells you just what kind of judgment he has.

And in that regard we have one more major campaign waiting for the hammer to fall.

And you all know which "ONE" I'm talking about.

The National Enquirer's journalistic credibility is vindicated. Unfortunately for it's legions of detractors who were quite vocal in jumping to conclusions, I hope this lesson lessens your ignorance and encourages you to take the time, when you can, to just allow the facts to be made known.

And that finally, along with a few select others, we told you so.

Ah, no, it's not. They got it right this time, but I will never--ever!--view them as a legit news source. But please, continue on with your Obama homo story.

As for Edwards, I'm disgusted.

What major scandal do you think is going to hit the Obama campaign?

Also, when you say Edwards was even less than we thought, that was because he had an affair, right?

You're right, what Edwards did was reprehensible. But why don't I see you posting the same sentiments when McCain's past indiscretions come up?

I, for one, am not going to be a hypocrite. I defended Edwards, due to the huge number and type of lies that the National Enquirer has been known to put out. However, not any more. Turns out that this rag was right, for a change. Edwards needs to go.

As to the poster who brought up McCain's infidelity, this thread is about Edwards. No reason to point fingers at someone else. You can post about McCain's cheating on his wife in another thread, but in this thread, the responsibility begins and ends with Edwards.

Glad he admitted the affair as that pretty much ends his bid for the VP slot. He is no better than McCain. They are both cads.

Go where? He left office in 2005.

Only you and a few others would call a source valid because it got one out of a million stories right.

Again, statistics is something most people have no understanding of on this board. If I throw a million darts at a board and hit the bull's eye 10 times, does that mean I'm a good dart player?

No. It means I suck but that the law of large numbers will result in me getting it right every once in a while.

In the same fashion, you are validating the NE as a valid source because it got 10 bull's eyes out of a million stories, the rest turning out to be completely fake, made up or bull****.

I'm not defending Edwards....I think what he did is pretty low.....but aren't you a big fan of Gingrich....who not only did the same thing.....actually left his wife?

McCain was a young man.....People make mistakes when they are young.......Made a few myself.....He has been married for 30 years now thouigh...

That said, its amazing how you try and hijack this thread and make a comparison with McCain my left wing friend........Not surprising though.......

Navy and his selective outrage.

I would say that anyone cheating on their spouse is of questionable moral character regardless of party affiliation and/or age.

It is even worse when you are cheating on a spouse that is ill. This is the time that you should be the most supportive.

I was never a huge Edwards fan.....he was ok.....but this takes him down quite a few rungs in my book.
