“I’m going to kill this guy” seems like a pretty damn clear establishing statement motive wise.

For Bin Laden? Generic happiness presumably, I wasn’t following politics all that closely in 2012 as a middle schooler. I knew who he was and what he’d done.

Killing Zawahiri was relatively good, although the lasting impact is likely minimal.

Oh course, both were ACTUAL terrorists who lead a organization in an effective state of war with the United States, rather than being officers in a foreign military....the military of a country, I might add, we’d made threats about invading numerous times over the course of the last forty or so years, regardless of how bloody such an invasion would be and the minimal chances of success.

And I noticed you failed to provide any of the numerous historical instances of 40 people defeating 500 while taking no casualties. Hmmm I wonder why that is
 
South Korea, prior to democratization, was ruled by vicious military dictators responsible for torturing and murdering tens of thousands of their own people, established a mass surveillance state in which the KCIA had vast numbers of informers, homeless people were kidnapped and sent to forced labor camps, and you could be thrown into prison for so much as signing a petition.

Gee, and, as previously stated, a handful of tanks are laughably to air power in a frontal assault.....which is why said tanks had no apparent impact on the battle.

Dude, I literally just provided DIRECT evidence showing they did. The Contras were operating from a US provided playbook, and CIA agents literally engaged in direct acts of terrorism THEMSELVES. There’s a reason we lost the ICJ Court Case.

The Syrians’ T-72s did damn well against IDF tanks in Lebanon actually, halting the Israeli advance into the Bekaa Valley in 1982. T-72s performed well against Western tank models during the Iran-Iraq War as well, routinely defeating Iranian Chieftains and Pattons. It’s an older tank model, but far from useless.

And btw, the US isn’t sending troops to attack Russians in uniform, so not sure what your “point” is.

Nouth Korea, which never achieved democratization, was and is ruled by a vicious family of dictators responsible for torturing and murdering Millions with an M of not only their own people but the people of South Korea as well, established a mass surveillance state in which the Ministry of State Security to which even family members are encouraged to be informers. The agency is reputed to be one of the most brutal secret police forces in the world, and has been involved in numerous human rights abuses. And you would be executed for so much as signing a petition, distributing South Korean movies, Fortune-telling, Conducting Christian worship, Calling relative in South Korea, crossing the border into China.

Uh....no, I have posted no lies. The torture of civilians in the “enhanced interrogation” black sites is a fact. The Contras being trained in terrorism and the CIA launching attacks to give them a helping hand is a fact. You being triggered can’t change reality.

We lost it because we did what we were accused of bud. This is well documented historical fact, and the US believing itself to be above international law can’t change it.

And again you reveal your clinging to your jingoistic fantasies.

Nah, a benefit of my knowing history instead of tearfully clinging to an AR-15 security blanket is the ability to understand trends in a country’s behavior.

Like how the Reagan administration’s support for vicious, and some outright genocidal, dictators reflected the US’ continued pattern of whining about how it’s actions were in the name of “freedom and democracy” while its actions showed the opposite.

Reagan belonged in a cell, but apparently Soleimani deserves a statue. I think this is the first actual overt lionizing of a terrorist I've seen on this board.
