Drone strikes US outpost in Syria

Forty soldiers supposedly trained to the highest standards in the world fighting on the defensive, with complete air superiority and fortified positions, versus a bunch of randos who might not have received training at all? Gee, it shouldn’t have been close in the first place.

And that’s what that’s a testimonial too. When you have literally all the advantages except numbers you are supposed to win.

You really need to start living in the real world instead of whatever jingoistic fever dream you keep hovering in.
Do you really not realize just how ridiculous you sound right not.

40 taking on 500 and the 500 got their ass kicked. And incredible testimony to the superiority of the US military. Sorry that fact hurt you so deeply.

But it’s good to see you keep telling lies.
So you think not having tanks when your enemy does is an advantage.
You think people driving tanks have no training.
You think Wagner soldiers have no training.
And they didn’t just have the numbers. They had an overwhelming numerical advantage.

But cry some more. Maybe it will help you get over your failure.

500 troops and 27 vehicles including tanks and armored personnel carriers attacked about 30 Delta Force soldiers and Rangers.

You are really ramping up the stupid at this point.

Wow.

Fact One: US Special Forces are supposedly the best trained soldiers in the world. Mercenary randos likely have minimal, if any, training, especially since the vast majority of the troops were pro regime Syrian fighters or Afghan mercenaries brought in by Iran

Fact Two: the US forces had complete air superiority and dedicated CAS assets, which was the entire point of the base. Human wave attacks, even ones with armored support, don’t do well against attack helicopters and B-52s.

Crying about “hate” can’t change reality bud.
Wagner group trains it’s employees. That is a fact.
Syrian soldiers have training. That is a fact.
soldiers,
Iranian-trained Afghan Shia fighters have training. That is a fact.

40 people holding off 500 especially when those 500 have tanks and mortars is nothing less the extremely impressive.

Your butt hurt feelings don’t change that fact.

It's hard to say how many were Wagner. It seems many were Syrian forces.

According to this NYT article (definitely fake), only four Putin soldiers were killed (definitely true):

MAGA.

Cool story.

Coming from the guy who spewed the laughable claim about the US “not going after civilians” that’s a laugh.

Again, a force supposedly trained to be the best in the world with a massive amount of air support, fighting in entrenched defensive positions, against a bunch of rando mercenaries coming at them in a human wave attack? That’s not at all an even matchup, no matter how much you sob. That’s like an NFL team beating a JV high school one and screaming about how that makes them the best ever.

Good to see you are still throughly buried in your jingoistic cloud.

Uh…yes, attack helicopters and B-52s trump tanks, in case you hadn’t noticed. That’s why competent forces don’t just send their tanks in headlong charges over open ground, but protect them with AAA and the like.

Gee bud, do you think a random Syrian militia even remotely has training equivalent to the US Special Forces? Don’t make me laugh. And as for Wagner, the number of actual Russian ground troops in the assault was dwarfed by the number of Syrian and Afghan mercs….and even then I doubt their training even comes close to US Special Forces standard.

Still clinging to your jingoistic fantasies I see. Too funny 😂

Hey, maybe you can cry some more about the guns you worship.

Maybe later. Right now, I'm incredibly entertained by you giving soldiers and Marines the benefit of your analysis of military engagements, made so in depth by your extensive military experience.

Again, if you actually think some rando Afghan militia even comes close to US special forces training, I have a bridge to sell you.

Forty people in entrenched positions with complete air superiority holding off a disorganized, fumbling human wave attack isn’t even surprising, no matter how much you try to jingoistically chest thump.

Hate to burst your bubble 😂

Yes, I’m sure you are happily giggling away. It saves you actually having to come up with an argument in favor of whining about me.

Wasn't it your position that they almost got their asses kicked, thus exposing the inherent weakness of the decadent west, or something?

Oh boy, a whole twenty seven armored vehicles(they weren’t even all tanks) 😂

Meanwhile, the US had

Yeah….that human wave attack never had the slightest chance of success 😂

Coming from Park Chung-hee’s number one cheerleader that’s a laugh.

Your argument is nothing but your opinion, well-supported though it may be by your 72 hour military career that was such a life changing illumination for you.

Gee bud, the fact that even with all those advantages they still got pushed to their limits does rather suggest something’s rotten in Denmark, doesn’t it ;)

Meanwhile you are literally just here to whine about me.

Which is pathetic, of course, but I suppose I can’t stop you from humiliating yourself.

You need to decide if their victory was nothing surprising, or if they dramatically were pushed to their limits.

Your opinion interests me. How it was formed is also interesting.

The attack should have been stopped cold practically before it got started . They had literally every advantage except one, and given the firepower arrayed against them and the lack of coordination the Russian proxy forces displayed the attackers had no serious chance of overrunning the base.

But it wasn’t.

On the other hand, the claims of “hundreds of Russian dead” have turned out to be baseless speculation.

But, going back to the main point…..the Soleimani strike was little more than an attempt at petty “revenge”, and actively counterproductive. It’d be like if we’d bombed Vietnam in the 1980s in hopes of killing Giáp.

Why do you think the enemy should have gave up at the first bit of difficulty? Is there something in your own military experience that leads you to that opinion?

It's petty to get some payback for American casualties, by targeting an individual directly responsible?

The US does not purposely target civilians. The opposite of your dead hero Soleiman.

Yes keep repeating this nonsense. Will help everyone see just how separated you are from reality. And all because you couldn’t hack it basic training. Sad.

Who said or even implied that Syrian militia are trained equivalently to US SOF. Oh that’s right. No one. Just you telling more lies.

Your butt hurt really has you acting ridiculous.

Why do you think the enemy should have gave up at the first bit of difficulty? Is there something in your own military experience that leads you to that opinion?

I think carrying out a suicidal frontal assault is technically brave but not a particularly good tactic, no. If something isn’t working, “just attacking ahead instead of adjusting the battle plan” is dumb.

Your ignorant opinion has been noted.

So should the Turks assassinate the next US Special Forces officer they see? After all, the US trained an affiliate of the PKK, which has caused many Turkish casualties.

“Payback” without any sort of larger strategic benefit is especially pointless.
