Her message was that the caller was being oversensitive. I don't think that was lost at all. If anything, the caller's points were lost in discussion because of her oversensitivity.

Why does any one give a **** what media matters thinks? It's not like they have any real power. They are just another right wing boogieman.

By the way, what is being discussed about all this, her point, or everything else? Now do you see what I mean about the point being lost?

You've gone out of your way to indicate they're infringing the Imam's First Amendment rights in that context, by making that argument. Just sayin'.

There's no First Amendment issue here, or in NY.

No, I have not actually. I have stated, and quite clearly, that it is first amendment if they block the Mosque, not if they protest the mosque. Don't put words in my mouth.

Then everything you said in our last exchange on the topic made no sense. You should have simply agreed with me that there was no First Amendment issue, because all they're actually doing is saying what you said above. But that's not what happened.
 
What I want to know is if nigger is racist or not. If it is, it shouldn't be used by anyone, even blacks. Because if you have to be a certain race to use the word then it is by default racist. Until I stop hearing blacks call each other that then I see no reason why I must stop, after all, it's either racist for any race to use the word or no race to use the word, but not for only one race to use it because, well, then that's racist.

Context is everything. I don't believe the word used in Mark Twain's novels was racist.

It all depends on context. Let me tell you a story. When I was about 20, I got to do a ride along with the police in Grand Rapids on afternoon. The cop took me down to Division Ave, which is that drag that every big city has, where all the bad people live within a couple blocks of it, it's crawling with dealers and pimps and prostitutes. So we are driving along, almost the only whites in the area, when the cop rolls down his window, leans out and yells out "hey nigger". I thought we where dead. Every one looks, and then go back to what they where doing or wave. Cops starts laughing at the look on my face, and explains. Seems a couple of the guys who always hug around this spot had a dog they brought with them, and the dogs name was Nigger. So yelling it at the dog was not racist, but if he had yelled it at one of the black people, it would have been.

The word is racist if it is used in a racist manner. If you are calling some one a nigger to insult them or anger them, then yeah, it's probably racist. If you use it discussing the word itself, it's not. Like most everything, context is the key.
