Yep - as a largely resource dependent economy and with interest rates even lower than in the US, the drop in the world price for oil has hit the Canadian dollar hard. In addition, as usual, when world economies are struggling, a lot of foreign investors flock to the American dollar and American stock markets to ride things out and that pushes the US dollar higher against all currencies. The Euro and the Pound have also lost a lot of ground to the US dollar.
