Another very strong speech by Donald Trump, once again pointing out the serious problems on voters' minds while outlining his economic goals, and appealing to African-Americans to try something other than the failed policies of the Democratic Party

Polls now show the race tightening up as Hillary's post-convention bounce fades, and Trump has a busy speaking scheduled lined up. He'll be participating in another Town Hall meeting in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, specifically addressing the border situation.

I don't know but there are a lot of people left in Donald's wake who can tell people what they can lose. Bankruptcies, Trump University, hundreds of lawsuits, junk bonds, casinos. I'm pretty sure there is a base of people who can tell you what people can lose with Trump.

As opposed to what? Blacks have been supporting the Democratic party for decades. Has it actually helped them at all? What's the old saying again? "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Maybe its time that they try something new? Of course I'd rather they didn't support Trump. But then again I'd rather they didn't support Hillary either. It's time for a new party to step in imo.

Why should Blacks simply vote for another lying liberal Democrat? Getting screwed by another Democrat is something they're familiar with. Getting screwed by Donald Trump would be a new experience for most but not for the people he's already screwed.

But out of curiosity, can you disprove anything that Trump said in that video? Genuine question. I hope you'll give a genuine answer that doesn't include the common meme's.

Self respect isn't being multi-generationally dependent of government handouts. Self respect isn't self inflicted genocide. Self respect isn't dying in a crack house.

And, you get down to the only selling point Donald has. "I'm not Hillary Clinton." That's true. And you justify your devotion to Donald Trump because he's not Hillary Clinton. How pitiful?

I wonder what he promised the suckers when he staged a bogus construction site to impress them?
All you've got with Trump is a record a decent man would be ashamed off and the fact that although he's a life-long Democrat, he isn't Hillary Clinton. A guarantee or a promise from Donald Trump has exactly the same value as a guarantee or a promise from Sen. Clinton or Bernie Madoff.

Sorry but blacks don't get self-respect by voting for Democrats. People with self-respect aren't Democrats and don't vote for Democrats. They also don't get jobs, a decent education, a safe environment to raise their children. That's what they won't get from a Democrat like Hillary Clinton or a Democrat like Donald Trump who is running as a Republican.

Nonsense. Supporting Donald Trump is for born suckers. That's who has always been Donald's base since the days of his casinos. Suckers go to casinos, suckers got to Trump University, suckers buy junk bonds, suckers invest in managed bankruptcies, and suckers vote for Donald Trump. And as Donald Trump bragged, he can shoot someone in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue in New York and not lose a single one of what he calls "my people".

1: I have no devotion to Trump. So please stop with the hyperbole. That should have been obvious in the first post that you responded to of mine.

2: Did he lie when he said that they are living in poverty? That 58% of their youth is unemployed? I get that his prediction might be a lie. Can't tell since its a future prediction. But the rest? And yes, people lost money in business dealings with him. Doesn't mean that policies made on the federal level would make blacks lose more...particularly since many blacks CAN'T lose more since they don't have jack thanks in due part to the inequities of the Democratic Parties failures.

Blacks have been very loyal to the Democrats since the beginning of the Great Depression or at least 1932. But those blacks who could vote vote between the civil war and 1932 were very loyal to the Republican Party. The change shouldn't be a surprise. During the depression pretty much everyone else became Democrats including whites. Approximately 50% of all Americans identified with the Democrats during FDR, the fact blacks would join the rest during those times is normal. FDR provided hope, Americans listened.

But from 1932 until 1963, blacks voted Democratic at approximately a 70-30 ratio. But from 1964 on it became a 90-10 ratio give or take a few points. But party affiliation has dropped from 50-25 Democrat to Republican in 1964 to 31-28 Democrat to Republican today. Of course this wasn't a straight line, but included a lot of ups and downs. In 1975 Democrats outnumber Republicans 43-21. In 1985 the Republicans cut the margin to 34-32 during Reagan and it has been fairly close ever since with the Democrats usually hold a 4 or 5 point lead.

Blacks on the other hand didn't join the trend away from the Democratic Party. They remained extremely loyal to the Democratic Party. It has been mostly rhetoric from the Democratic Party, not necessarily actions since LBJ left office that has kept them tied to the Democrats. Of course the Republican Party has played into the fear preached by the Democrats. I suppose the bottom line is I don't expect the voting percentages to change anytime soon.

I totally agree. I won't vote for any liberal Democrat. Sen. Clinton or Mr. Trump and America will continue to be the loyal subjects of the liberals.

Years of the GOP in Red states trying to prevent Blacks/Minorities from voting.

Now the GOP wants to be forgiven and wants their vote? Trump asks what have they got to lose?

Something tells me, "What the hell do you have to lose?" isn't going to be that inspiring. Not all African Americans live in the projects and smoke crack. As soon as the republican party acknowledges the fact that the black vote isn't a monolithic thing they will have a better chance at winning over voters.
