"Taken together, the accounts refute a two-year pattern of denials by Mr. Trump, his legal team and his advisers that he was involved in payoffs to Ms. McDougal and a former adult-film star. They also raise the possibility that the president of the United States violated federal campaign-finance laws.
The Wall Street Journal found that Mr. Trump was involved in or briefed on nearly every step of the agreements. He directed deals in phone calls and meetings with his self-described fixer, Michael Cohen, and others. The U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan has gathered evidence of Mr. Trump’s participation in the transactions."

I don't know how new this news is but it sure is a long piece that sounds pretty familiar.
But there it is and I expect the new House will have a lot to say about it.
...not to be overly contentious, bubbagone, but how exactly is this breaking news? I thought that it was practically common knowledge that Trump paid his mistresses off.

This time they have the evidence to prove it. Before it was always alleged based mostly on the words of the women and Trump and his lawyers' lies.

This case has been closed and no one in the right mind cares. Anything, at this point, is considered a conspiracy, so this thread should actually be moved to the "Conspiracy Theory" section, not "Breaking News".

Rudy has been below the radar for some time, anyone have a sighting?

Excepting that this is an actual conspiracy, and not a theoretical one.
Last I recall of Rudy was him offering to explain the journalist's murder for Saudi Arabia. They turned him down, for some reason!
He didn't do anything illegal. So, who cares?
He's probably in Russia again.

Federal prosecutors have reportedly gathered evidence of Trump's participation in transactions that violated campaign-finance laws.
Him paying hush money to his mistresses isn't illegal on its own.
Him conspiring with others to make payments or take actions to influence an election ... that's a different kettle of fish.
A conspiracy to what? A "conspiracy" isn't a crime.
Wrong:
Yes it is. U.S. Code › Title 18 › Part I › Chapter 19 › § 371
Did you skip civics class?
Those violations happen all the time. The politicians that committed them (Clinton, Obama, Sanders) paid a fine and went about their business.
Why didn't Clinton, Obama and Sanders go to jail?
Without a double standard, you people wouldn't have any standards.
Do you even know what civics class is? :lamo
Skooled by a foreigner on US law! :lamo:lamo:lamo
