DOJ seizes more classified docs from Biden's Wilmington home after 12-hour search

I dont think that is necessary. It is clear there is an issue with classified documents given Trump, Biden and Clinton. The entire system needs an overhaul and the public needs to be apprised of the process. As we see from these threads nobody really has any idea what the rules are for each classification.

Barring such an investigation (the one I described), how would one data point (Clinton's example is different, and Trump's example is really different) tell you about the process for how government documents are mistakenly ending up in politicians' possession after they leave office, especially when they didn't know they had them to begin with? Because I have to assume there is a process for returning such documents; it's just not airtight.

That is not true. Trump was searched under the terms of the Espionage Act which involves defense documents. He also appears to have obstructed justice. At this point it would appear Bien is only being looked at under the statute covering the removal and retainment of classified documents. That could change .
Trump obstructed nothing. And once again, in Trump's case, he had legal right as president to possess the doucments. The only issue was how quickly he would transfer them to NARA. QAnd he did have the power to declassify them. In Biden's case, he had no legal right to poissess the documents after he left the Obama administration and they were scattered in four locations with no real security.

We have to rely on known political assassins for our information. Namely the FBI and DOJ where they operate clandestinely behind closed doors and never reveal crap. The same group that enacted a virtual assassination of Trump through Crossfire Hurricanem infiltrating Twitter and using CISA, a division of the DHS to essentially get private corporations to "cooperate" with our government in exposing what the STATE considers disinformation. Chris Wray was proud of that and said so at Davos, which is strange that he was even there meeting with a private group of billionaires intent on destroying civilization as we know it.
LOL

And don't forget the retention of documents potentially covered under the presidential records act - something that the left was so concerned about with Trump, that has now virtually disappeared. Biden had to have known he had similar records stashed away in his Penn-Biden Center office and home. That's why lawyers were cleaning out those areas to begin with. I think they just didn't expect to come across a bunch of classified documents in the process.
My prediction is that after the discoevery of Biden's documents, neither he or Trump will face indictment.

Biden would have had to have stolen those documents. He was not president at the time and they were not declassified.

This is garbage about "espionage". the same people who are saying that are the FBI, who were the ones out to get Trump in 2016 and again in 2020 when they infiltrated Twitter.

Pretty sure defying a legally obtained subpoena is obstruction of justice.

As I have said about a thousand times....there is NO requirement in the Espionage Act that documents be classified ONLY that they relate to national defense. Classification is irrelevant which makes declassification irrelevant .

LOL

I don't know how much more proof anyone needs that the FBI orchestrated a plot to get rid of Trump and is still in action. They just classify whatever the hell they want and keep it that way. We were promised that all of the classified material on the Kennedy assassination would be revealed and it isn't. The public is given the finger by these assassins.

It was not a "raid" . As different as the two situations are Biden is going to pay a price for this politically although not likely legally. It is what it is but he will pay a price as will Trump, even more so. What a mess ...only in America.
No difference at all except Democrat hypocrisy on full display as usual including Biden himself. It's pathetic to watch as liberals scramble to explain away Biden's classified doc foul up, including the fact that there are docs from when he was a senator. He had zero right as a senator to take docs home, unless he had a government approved secure storage, which is highly unlikely.

Trump obstructed nothing.

Not only did Trump obstruct NARA and the DOJ's efforts to get government documents back, it's the most likely charge he'll face.

And once again, in Trump's case, he had legal right as president to possess the doucments.

Oh, I think I get it. He's the "real" President because the 2020 election was stolen from him, so he has the right to have those documents even now. Is that your line of reasoning? Because that's the only interpretation of your statement that would make it make sense.

The only issue was how quickly he would transfer them to NARA.

A year and a half, but he had to be raided.

QAnd he did have the power to declassify them.

Well if he's President right now, he wouldn't need to would he?

In Biden's case, he had no legal right to poissess the documents after he left the Obama administration and they were scattered in four locations with no real security.

Nobody outside right wing info bubbles knows what the hell you're talking about.
You're not wrong, but not in the way you think.

Yes. And I still stand behiund that claim. Biden does have demntia. That however does not translate to ignorance about classified documents, especially in his garage.
How convenient. So he's a forgetful old fart when it suits, yet a malevolent schemer with an eye for detail when it doesn't.

Nope.

I am just looking for equal justice.
A year and a half, but he had to be raided.
6 years inBiden's case. What's your point? Biden's house and Penn center should have been raided long ago.
Well if he's President right now, he wouldn't need to would he?
Obviously Trump is still living in your head rent free.

The scheming I would be concerned about is whether any of those documents show his ties to his bastad son Hunters shady business dealings with China and Ukraine.

Couldn't be more obvious. They are still living with the delusion that Trump is going to be indicted, for something, for anything.

Compelling response. Great job.

I am just looking for equal justice.

Non sequitur. Or just incoherent. It's one of those though.

6 years inBiden's case.

0 days in which it was learned that Biden had documents before immediately notifying NARA. (Although I admit it might have been as many as 1 days).

Vs.

Over 500 days in which it was known that Trump had government documents before the FBI said "Oh screw it" and raided his house out of frustration with his obstruction.

Letsgobrandon: "The first example is worse!"

What's your point? Biden's house and Penn center should have been raided long ago.

The FBI typically doesn't raid the homes of people that are cooperating with them 100%.

Obviously Trump is still living in your head rent free.

Incoherent non sequitur, which was obviously the point.

Nope.

And who is telling you he ignored it?

100% correct, which is why I say he STOLE classified documents. Unlike Trump, who was president at the time.

Biden had the documents for 6 years. You can stop with the "There's nothing to see here, let's move on" fantasy.
Which only matters if he knew he had them.

He did NOT obstruct. He and his attorneys were in continual talks about it.

You edited out the second part because that's the thing that obviously illustrates a crime.

Strangely one of those FBI agents who was investigating Trump over alleged Russian Collusion has just bee arrested for none other then collusion with the Russians.
