Since it appears that Messrs Pence, Biden, and Trump all did the same thing, don't you think that it would be appropriate for all three of them to be permanently barred from holding public office?

Since it appears that Messrs Pence, Biden, and Trump reacted in different ways to discovering what they had done, don't you think that it would be appropriate for those who actually voluntarily complied with the law and assisted in the rectification of what they had done once they became aware of it should be treated differently from those who did everything in their power to frustrate the operation of the law and deliberately lied about what they had done (and were continuing to do)?
