DOJ seizes more classified docs from Biden's Wilmington home after 12-hour search

I agree with you but I also agree with other conservatives that the left is turning on him for two reasons. The main one is they know he is toast in 2024
Agreed, I would guess they don't think he can win in 24 so he needs to be out of their way.
Meanwhile, though, Joe and Jill have gotten pretty accustomed to and arrogant about their positions and I don't expect they'll just be politely and pleasantly willing to exit. I think an element of stubbornness and resentment has settled into the two of them.

Trump NEVER refused to return the documents. They were in constant contact with the FBI on returning them. It was the FBI who agreed that he could keep them as long as he double-locked the door. Trump was president and as such, he had the authority to declassify. Biden did NOT and he had NO reason whatsoever to possess classified documents.
\
The same FBI people that set him up for Russian Collusion were involved with this raid.
And Biden had the authority to reclassify trumps documents back to top secret

When do they start on the other houses and offices where Biden has worked?

I agree. Both of them are delusional. Joe seriously thinks he is doing a good job. Kamala knows she is in over her head but thinks people don't like her only because she is of color and a female and that if only America can see how "intelligent" she really is that people would warm up to her in spite of her being of color and female (forgetting that there are many smart females of color already in media politics on the Republican side)

I still think they don't want to risk having him resign and their feigned umbrage at him for having classified documents strewn all over the place unprotected is to get him to decide not to run in 2024 and let the DNC pick their candidate before it is too late, They need the next two years to rehabilitate someone like Newsom by lying about him and that he is doing a great job in California.

Drip.... drip.... drip...

Now the DOJ is involved and they found the docs

Biden lied. There were more

=================================

The Justice Department seized additional classified records from President Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home during a search it conducted on Friday, Fox News has learned.

The Justice Department conducted a search of the house beginning Friday morning at 9:45 a.m., which concluded Friday night around 10:30 p.m. and covered "all working, living and storage spaces in the home," Biden's personal attorney Bob Bauer said Saturday evening.

How did he lie when he's never given a public statement claiming whether or not he had classified material in the first place? The only public statement by Pres. Biden I've heard on the matter that even comes close to an acknowledgement was him say he was surprised classified material was even found at his Penn Biden Center let alone anywhere at his Delaware home.

Now, that said, this latest discovery makes it extremely difficult for Pres. Biden to claim innocence here. The only thing that separates Biden from Trump in both of their classified document debacles is Biden hasn't made a big fuss of their discovery in his case, whereas, Trump took his matter court AFTER making every excuse in the book to deny having them BEFORE trying to claim possession of them.

Regardless of who's more culpable, both men's credibility with handling classified material has been shot. It's going to be interesting to see how both investigations pan out.

I thought Joeys lawyers said everything is super duper here in Delaware? Nothing left, we turned them all over.

LMAO
I don't think Biden's lawyers ever made such a claim. They conducted their search and alerted NARA who I believe in turn informed the DoJ. But I don't think his lawyers ever claimed no more classified material was on his property. They just turned over what they found,

What is going on?? How can a person in government be so reckless to leave classified documents all over the place in multiple locations?

There needs to be hearings until we get to the bottom of this and risk assessments of potential National Security damage. Can't possibly see how this doesn't lead to impeachment hearings as well.
How do you impeach the President for things he did before he was President?

On Thursday, asked whether Biden could guarantee that additional classified documents would not turn up in a further search, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters, “You should assume that it’s been completed, yes.”

He is either incompetent in not knowing he had them or they involve his 10% kickbacks from China and Burisma and his son paying him 50k a month for something worth no more than 10k a month.

They are throwing him under the bus now. The DOJ knew the Republicans were going to expose them so they are in damage control. Poor Joe
I disagree. I see this as the DoJ just doing their job and trying to be as apolitical as possible.

Sidenote: I still want to know what triggered the initial search of Penn Biden Center. It's rather odd to me that the President would send his personal lawyers to search an office he no longer uses for classified material as part of a routine pack-out process even if the university wanted the space back or Biden simply decided he no longer needed the space. IMO, something's off about all of this. That said, I don't discount the real possibility that then Senator Biden and subsequently VP Biden was just careless.

If Biden is impeached for this then Trump should be barred from office.

My thought is the lawyers were tasked with sorting through all the documents he had there with the purpose of deciding where they should go...ie personal, property of the center, property of the university, etc. I don't think they expected one of those groups to be the NARA.

On Thursday, asked whether Biden could guarantee that additional classified documents would not turn up in a further search, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters, “You should assume that it’s been completed, yes.”

Per the article:

“While I was transferring it to the DOJ officials who accompanied me, five additional pages with classification markings were discovered among the material with it, for a total of six pages," Sauber said. “The DOJ officials with me immediately took possession of them.”

I can understand why Karine Jean-Pierre said that. Biden's White House lawyer, Richard Sauber made it clear that DoJ personnel were on the scene with him as he returned what classified documents were found at the time. So, speaking off the cuff, I think she believed it was safe to assume since DoJ was there no more documents would be found. That's a blunder on her part. But it's now looked at as if it was an official White House proclamation which doesn't help the situation at all.

That still doesn't answer the question as to why clear out the space in the first place. If it was as simple as "you stopped paying the rent, clear out!," I can understand that, but so far there's been no explanation as to why the search (or search ahead of packing out before vacating the space) was necessarily. I'm just curious as to the origin story.

Wild speculation, but if we're going there...

How 'bout that payout to the Saudis for the golf tournament Trump hosted at MAL? Pretty convenient time to transfer copies of every piece of SECRET/TOP SECRET (SCI) information Trump had before the FBI raided MAL.

I heard that he was no longer participating in the think tank and decided to give up the space and close up the office.

This is bigger than Watergate!!!
You wish!

We get to Watergate level IF: 1) the risk assessment proves any of the classified material was given to unauthorized entities; or 2) upon such revelation, Biden resigns. Then we're at Watergate level. Until then, we just have an embarrassing situation where the POTUS is likely to face a serious fine for mishandling of classified documents and be done with it.

It is. You have to consider for just a moment, how many people were involved in keeping this a secret until (well) after the midterms. Imagine how many people knew.
I think you guys on the right are over exaggerating how the news of classified documents being found at Penn Biden Center ahead of the midterms would have affected the outcome. Such material being discovered due to Biden's apparent carelessness does not mean that any other Democrat up for election or re-election at the mid-terms would have been viewed as culpable along with him. You blame the person for their actions in this case, not the entire party.

So, while I understand the talking point, it's just not realistic.

Mrs Clinton destroyed emails.
Obstruction.
No prosecution.
That's the precedent.
The Biden stuff is hilarious. And it, along with the Clinton precedent, makes it basically impossible to go after Trump.
Hillary Clinton did not destroy emails. If that were the case, we wouldn't have had Comey's 'October Surprise" right before the 2016 presidential election. (And don't try to claim she destroyed her cellphone with a hammer as an example of email destruction either. That's a standard security protocol used in government when switching from one mobile communications device to another.)

I know nothing about that. Link?

You know, this begs the question....
Biden and tRump are not the only politicians with access to classified material, I'm sure ranking members of the Senate and House committees have access, as well as the staff of these committees.
I wonder if maybe an amnesty program should be enacted to get all of these documents returned and then have the librarian from hell come up with a logging and tracking system.
The big question that comes out of all of this is whether there needs to be a real hard look at the PRA and give it some enforcement capabilities and a better defined process, because right now it's dependent on former officials going through the due diligence of proper record management, and that's clearly been deficient. You have to wonder how many documents from previous administrations are outside of NARA's control.
