Does the Death of Justice RBG help or hurt either Biden or Trump's chances

Does the death of Justice RBG help or hurt Biden Or Trump's chances?

I think it really depends on how much of a drama Trump's appointment becomes; spin doctors and savvy political advertising could turn this into a brouhaha so I reserve judgement. I personally would lean towards the impact being small overall, but there's potential.

America's attention span is less than 24 hours.

To win FL., and the Hispanic vote, Trump needs to nominate and have Barbara Lagoa confirmed.

With Biden's shift to the left progressive socialist side, I am confident that the Cuban-American refugee community in Florida will be voting strongly for Donald Trump despite who Trump selects to replace RBG. Trump could pick a ham sandwich and those Cubans wouldn't vote for Biden with his sidekick Kommisar Harris.

I believe a sound strategy for Donald Trump is for the woman he selects be whichever one--- and whatever reason, the Dems will attack the most. Won't matter what that woman's ethnicity is.

Clearly, they can't accuse a woman of rape--- like they did with Kavanaugh, but maybe they'll accuse the female Trump picks of witchcraft, prostitution, or shoplifiting pornography? Wouldn't put it past them to try. As Chucky Shoomer likes to say, "everything is on the table".

Is either candidate helped by the prospect of the vacancy on the Supreme court? Will Trump use it to rally his voters or will Biden use it to amp up the attack against Trump

I think it's a wash. I think the real loser is our country though. We are too divided and this isn't helping.

nah, I am happy that people who whine about the wealthy, suck up to them when they are left-wingers

This makes zero sense. Nobody is sucking up to Bloomberg.

Younger Cuban Americans are shifting towards the Dems, regardless of whatever clown Trump picks.

Cafeteria Libertarians will enjoy 4 additional Justices in 2021, right after Democrats blow up the filibuster.

you will see anti Catholic bigotry-the likes of which the USA has not seen since JFK ran in 1960. And the leading bigots will claim to be catholics.

All I'll say is...last time the SC was front and center during an election was 2018, and we all saw how that turned out.

If Trump and the GOP tries to ram through some federalist society hack down the nation's throat...it won't end well in the long term for them, IMO.

Are you a both-sider on historic revision of blame or another other-wiser in America’s apartheid GOPutins?

I said earlier I didn't think it would help earlier, but the obvious point belatedly occurred to me that if the election result goes to the Supreme Court RBG's death obviously greatly helps Trump. Even if he doesn't manage to replace her before the election, the liberal wing is short one more justice.

Your response lets me know not to bother attempting a reasonable discussion. Thanks for alerting me to that from the get-go.

It hasn’t helped Biden. In fact he’s avoiding going public with who he would consider. There’s a reason he won’t disclose that.

Heh, prior to Trump candidates Republican and Democrat never released any "lists" of who they'd appoint to the SC if elected. Only reason why Trump ever did it was because he had to convince "conservatives" to ignore his liberal past, and thus him releasing some "list" of potential SC picks that was pre approved by the federalist society was the only way he felt he could do it. Never mind the fact that "conservatives" would have voted for him anyway because the R next to his name.

Coney Barrett is already losing the Coney, as S. Huckabee Sanders did, along with R. Romney McDaniel.

I think you are wrong: In the long term this country is going to split in half

The GOP has hated CATHOLICS forever, including in politics since JFK.

GOP Bros in the kkk and the Nazis are now a ruling, fascist minority.

Time to force city folks to re-education camps.

"conservatives" aren't even half the country now...how will that work?

yeah they hate Catholics. Like Scalia! Like Rudy G. Sam Alito, Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, Brent Kavanaugh. where do you come up with this idiocy?

Neither are “liberals.”

There is approximately a 3-4% difference between registered Dems and registered Reps.

a lot of those people who identify as "moderates"...yeah you know the rest.

The GOPartheid is by far predominantly evangelical, not Catholic. Spewing insults so becomes you.

Oh I agree, the public teat sucklers are out breeding the productive people.

I am insulting the idiocy of your claim. What groups are most likely to hate catholics?

Your average Trump supporter probably can't even spell the word "productive", let alone actually be productive.

Other, it will solidify the trump supporters, but it will also galvanize the Liberals, and what it comes down to is what Moderates and Independents think of the move on the part of the Repubs and trump, I think the lean is more in favor of Biden and the Dems but we shall see soon enough, what the American People think.

On another point you made later, yes we are headed for a divorce and a darn messy one. I see no Politician or Party that can bring us all back together, so it is just a matter of time.

Trump had nothing to do with Merrick Garland not being confirmed. .... Trump has the duty to nominate.

If you have a legitimate argument, take it up with the former POTUS.

"When there is a vacancy on the SCOTUS, the President is to nominate someone, the Senate is to consider that nomination... There's no unwritten law that says that it can only be done on off-years. That's not in the Constitution text." ~Barack Obama
So why didn't the senate consider Garland? Fact is, the GOP invented an argument to set a new precedent to stop Obama appointing a new SC, and now they want to ignore their own precedent.
