Ladies I'm looking mostly at you, but guys if you're the kind of guy that cares what other people wear, feel free to vote too.

Because Jesus Christ, the media (and pretty much the entire media, including Fox) thought that she was the fashion Christ, here to bring upon this the One True Look.

I'm not seeing it. She wears dresses, wooo wooo wooo. :roll:

Our politicians and their spouses are supposed to at least pretend to be patriotic even though some of them are selling us out to globalism,illegal immigration and many other anti-American things.
 
I do not care and haven't noticed since the inauguration. admittedly I think she has poor taste but come on look who she married, right?
 
It is really any different than the media talking about what other celebrities are wearing? I think its just a combination of having both young and fairly attractive first lady is bringing back the Kennedy nostalgia.

I don't see her as being particularly glamorous or stylish in her wardrobe choices, myself, although frankly a large part of that is due to her deplorable posture and carriage (something she shares with her husband, I've noticed).

Since when did slouching become stylish?
 
I actually do care. I think the arts are a a important part of our lives and fashon is a part of the arts.

No, I don't give two ****s what anyone wears. Much less someone I don't know and don't care about. Is there some reason I should?
 
It's my experience that those who vote for a politician are much more likely to 'care' about the personal touches and relationships and the gossip than those who didn't vote for that politician. I can remember how many Republicans were quite interested in Ronald and Nancy Reagan's images at home and abroad. There was a sense, after Jimmy Carter, that the Reagan's had restored a more glamorous image to the White House. Of course, Democrats made fun of Nancy's purchase of new china, among other things. Much as Republican's are now poo-pooing all the fuss over Michelle Obama's clothing.

I suspect the Obama's image consultants are probably having heated debates over many of these minor details. On the one hand, they want to dress up the first couple's image. On the other hand, they don't want to make them appear 'imperial' and risk losing support among their base. Which is probably why they've chosen these idiotic selection of gifts... such as the Queen's video-iPod. It's a way of doing a delicate balancing act.

For most of us who work for a living... fashion is a little more than an idle diversion. For some of us it's integral to our job. Which is why most work places have some minimal dress codes. And many workplaces have very strict dress codes.

Fashion is also critical for those in the 'upper levels' of society. If you plan on taking the wife to a five-star restaurant for your anniversary, it's advisable to check in advance, no? The same if you're invited to enjoy a round of golf at the exclusive country club. Proper attire required.

Fortunately most of us don't need to consider these kind of things on a daily basis. But if we were in a position to be hob-nobbing with the Queen and heads of state from around the world... these types of things would probably suddenly seem quite important.

 
In other words, an idle diversion for the idle.

If a restaurant wants my business, they'll take me in my black jeans and my leather vest (and bolo tie if I want to dress fancy). The number of stars the restaurant has in the Michelin Guide is not relevant.

I suppose you might consider the goings on at exclusive country clubs to be 'idle diversions.' But somehow I suspect the discussions and meetings at these types of clubs have much more impact on our society than the discussions and meetings at the local waffle house.

But maybe I'm just a bit conspiratorial.

 
Sure I care. The First Lady represents our country. I expect her to wear fashionable clothing made by our best designers. She's American royalty.
 
My only preferance is the same preferance I have for the cloathing of all people.
That I find decadant dress a litte distasteful. But I dont give enough of a **** to notice what she weares so i obviously dont care much at all.

Indeed.

People can wear whatever makes them happy. I just hope no one actually thinks that most of us give a **** what they're wearing. At least, those of us with lives of our own to live.

I don't care what the cashier at Walmart is wearing. I don't care what the bank teller is wearing. I don't care what the people are wearing that I pass on the street. I don't care what the folks in the boardroom are wearing. When I worked at the DOD, I didn't give a **** what the generals and other bigwigs wore. I don't care what celebrities are wearing. And I sure as **** don't care what politicians and their families are wearing. I didn't even care what the president of the company wore when I had boardroom meetings with him at SOE.

I honestly can't quite wrap my brain around the fact that *anyone* would give a ****. I realize that there are people out there that do, but I honestly feel a bit sorry for them. It's kinda sad that some people actually care what fabric other people have draped over their bodies. No offense intended toward anyone, but I seriously do find it sad.
 
Do I give a **** if she is wearing designer line clothing, or is the name brand important to me? No.

Do I think she should be dressed appropriatley depending on the function? Sure. I don't think it would be unreasonable for Americans to be embarrased if Michelle Obama met with the Queen of England dressed like a hoodrat.

Globalism - has always been, and will be even more so.
Illegal immigration - tell the American natives about this...or the rich farmers who hire the wetbacks.
I think many have forgotten what America is about.
Opportunity - the reason the Mexicans are here.

On the other side of the coin; our government could be more pro-American
One language - English
No to the "safety" fad which is completely out of hand...
 
The media is out of touch with reality, they are so-over engrossed with sensationalism...and entertainment.
Its hard work to ask a citizen what he would like to read.....
Me ?... the truth.....all these unemployed and homeless... what is their story ???
