I'm torn.
On the one hand I think that's the risk you take as an porn actor and its your choice to engage.
On the other, even though porn in California for example has a decently robust screening system it isn't perfect and outbreaks do happen and so this would prevent more of those.
But for me, I can't watch commercial porn anyway, it just doesn't appeal to me.
Real amateur all the way, real people doing real things
Interesting prediction and probably right as well. Years from now.... I would expect the government to make it illegal to transmit condomless porn within their realm, seems like eventually amateur porn will be made to follow the same rules.
Porn as an industry is dying since there are so many people who will make content for nearly no compensation. As soon as the internet filters are good enough (thanks CHINA!) I would expect the government to make it illegal to transmit condomless porn within their realm, seems like eventually amateur porn will be made to follow the same rules.

Oh please! Spare us the 1984 BS. Private individuals will not be required to wear condoms when filming themselves having sex. This is not about dictating porn content, it's about safety regulations within an industry.
Is there any sky that you will not predict is falling?
Why/Why Not?
No, because like most Americans (I think) I dont like to see condoms in my porn, and the government has no good cause to demand that I do. THis is government overreach, the dreaded Nanny State.
California will vote in 2016 on condoms for porn actors - LA Times
Actually requiring condoms does dictate how the content will be done and how the individuals involved will have sex. As for your safety regulations argument, please, the people involved are responsible for their own life decisions and can freely decline a job offer if they want a condom to be worn.
It's not about regulating content, it's about safety. Every industry has safety regulations. Do we say, "hell, factory workers can work in a fire trap because the people involved are responsible for their own life decisions"?
Why can't the actors make their own decisions? Is their any reason they are incapable of making a decision on if they want a condom to be worn or not? If they are capable of making their own decisions then why not allow them to do so?
Telling people they can't freely accept risks is treating them like children that are incapable of making decisions on their own. I do not want to live in a society where the government thinks they can make my personal decisions for me.
Why can't a factory worker work in a fire trap? Is there any reason they are incapable of making a decision on if they want to work in a fire trap or not? If they are capable of making their own decisions then why not let them work in a fire trap?
Again, I'm not saying I support the regulation. I'm saying let's not act ****ing insane and pretend this is about control of content and thus including amateur porn because that's sick in the head.
Believing this is about content control, and not safety, is so sick. I mean, really, that belief is flat-out brain damaged.
Let me guess, it's all about the industry turning anti-male?
Seriously, thinking this is about content and thus amateur porn would be similarly regulated is the most twisted brain rot I've seen on this site today.
Is the government looking to put in place their solution to a problem? Yes or no? Is the government going to respect the decisions of the people in the industry on the matter? Yes or no?
Being against all industry safety regulations because "people can choose" is a close second for most moronic position of the day. This thread wins gold and silver, gratz.
If people can leave an industry when they find themselves in disagreement with the conditions exactly how is my condition moronic? Are they not free to decide what conditions they will accept?
Rarely have I witnessed such pathetic idiocy. I sincerely hope you're joking.
Good day.

I'm not saying I support the regulation, I'm just saying let's not jump off the deep end and pretend this is something other than safety regulations.
Proposing that amateur porn would be similarly regulated is flat out idiocy and totally misses the point of the regulations. What kind of sick thinking is it to believe this is about regulating the content of porn, even including amateurs? Seriously, that's ****ed in the head.
At the entrance to the Aids Healthcare Foundation, a staffer wears a red T-shirt bearing the slogan “Condoms are Cool”. Down the hallway is the office of Michael Weinstein, the forthright head of the billion-dollar not-for-profit organization who is the first to volunteer that he is regarded as a “condom Nazi”.
“What’s the big whoop about condoms?” he said, sitting amid the expansive, 21st-floor views of Los Angeles and photographs showing him with notables such as Whoopi Goldberg and Alicia Keys. “I just don’t get why it’s such a sacrifice.”

California officials say that condoms already are required under regulations aimed at protecting workers from bloodborne pathogens. The porn industry is trying to change that, arguing that the rules are outdated. Weinstein’s new measure has sharper teeth, because it could allow any California resident to sue producers, distributors and talent agents. He says his goals are to stamp out STDs among performers and for porn to set a good example for viewers.
A Sanders supporter, Weinstein has long leaned hard to the left. As a young man, he was drawn to anti-war and civil rights movements, and was a leader of the Lavender and Red Union, a group founded around 1974 that operated on the premise that “gay liberation is impossible without socialist revolution”.
Adults performing in an adult industry. They should be allowed to decide for themselves without government busy bodies dictating to them.
