We are not envious of ourselves either right now. A bunch of dumb white racists are having their happy moment but that pendullum will swing eventually one way or another.

I respond with a qualified YES.
ICE may need to use deadly force to combat deadly force used by the protesters bent on defying ICE as they do their jobs.
If block-headed anti-Trump posters can't see the need for federal officers to defend themselves using deadly force, then there is no reasoning with those who believe those who are fighting and injuring officers is a good thing.
I am in no way suggesting that ICE officers shoot to kill protesters trying to harm ICE officers. ICE is using rubber bullets, tear gas, flash bang grenades, and tasers to keep protesters under control.

Yeah, you guys are driving towards a cliff, with the peddle to the metal.

I think anyone engaging in activism on this needs to understand that there are very few scenarios where Trump backs down here. It will be over for him if he caves on immigration as he has with the economy. Everyone going in should consider themselves going all in.

That has an ominous tone to it. Given the danger of more intense riots against ICE operation, you want activists to be even more violent on the streets?

Here's where I have a problem.

It seems a number of people in the United States accept the manner in which ICE identifies, processes and deports illegals. Their premise is there is no other way. Many of us do not accept that. There has been no organized political debate at the national level. Under the current administration the effort is closer to do it BIG and do it quickly. Like tariffs, like mass reductions in force from DOE to FAA to FEMA to VA and on and on.

If Trump hadn't been prevented from serving in the military due to bone spurs he would have learned the adage Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Unfortunately, Trump does not understand what every American soldier, airman, Marine, sailor has drilled into their brain from day one in their conversion from civilian to military man/woman. The ultimate result is the well earned sobriquet TACO.

This administration is hellbent to shoot from the hip to shoot first and ask questions later in damn near everything it does. Little to no serious definition of whatever issue at hand; no research, planning, no establishment of measurements or periodic reviews. Piss poor planning creates constant **** ups that are then either ignored or dismissed or covered in lies and excuses. Who ultimately pays the price? The American people and people all over the world.

Trump had the impulse control of a small child. That is no secret to anyone. Also, Donald Trump has little to no concept of actions and their consequences. And while we may not agree on this I would submit that Donald Trump's primary concern in ALL things is Donald Trump. The world outside his brain be damned.

And so here we are in LA holding the shitty end of the stick. American military facing American civilians, something that never should happen. Could have been avoided.

The entire ham-fisted ICE round-up is a prime example.

No, my meaning is that they cannot expect to be allowed to engage in these activities as if it were a more sane, humane president deciding upon the reaction. At this point no one should be under the illusion that this won't turn bloody at some point, if the current trajectory is maintained.

And yes, that has an ominous tone. Probably because the events transpiring are ominous. This escalation should be very concerning. Your current president's policy is not resonating, and what is brewing is much deeper than the usual suspects showing up to bitch. Good luck, basically.

My answer would have to be : Where Legal, Appropriate, and Necessary.

I ask because, if the person or group making that determination has conflicts of interest, I question the validity of their decision.

Edit: Which means that neither ICE nor protesting civilians get to make that determination.
