How many of those people who are illegal immigrants are actually working and helping "grow the economy". I suspect that a large majority are just living off the government. Which means they are a DRAIN on the economy.

He has a point. It's not the only way to deal with a low birth rate, but a low birth rate does create economic problems that need to be addressed. A population of young workers paying into social security keeps us from having to either raise taxes, cut Social Security or go deeper into debt.
That much, I think we might agree on in the abstract sense.

In some cases yes. The generational old problem is the left telling the blacks that whites are holding them down. When enough people believe this, they stop striving to achieve. This myth needs to be dismissed and people reminded they need to strive to better themselves, even against bad odds.
