Do tampons rob women of their virginity? (1 Viewer)

Of course they don't. Darren Mays is an idiot.

I wonder how many people believe this and if it is a motivating factor in not making them free to students.

"Shortly after tampons were invented in 1929, Catholic priests denounced unmarried women's use of tampons because they believed tampons compromised virginity. Similar to masturbation, using tampons became frowned upon or considered sinful in cultures all over the world, and it's still taboo in various Christian denominations and many strictly religious Jewish and Muslim households"

Mays is combining two misogynist tropes. One, the phobia of feminine hygiene products, and two, the myth that the vagina stretches out from sex outside of marriage.

What does that have to do with whether someone has had sex?
If you read the tweet posted by @j brown's body you will see that some men have always thought that a girl loses some of her value, as a virgin, if she uses a tampon.

It amazes me that someone could so profoundly misunderstand sex.

You should read your link about Muslim households and their beliefs.

These are the people making laws, and hate drag queens, trans, or anyone that is having sex, because, they sure aren't.

Little girls are now getting their periods. Puberty is starting younger and younger. I am glad that a girl in my daughter's cohort got breast buds and then her period right before my daughter did, because otherwise I would have been very seriously alarmed. At least my daughter and her friend, now, 30, got their periods at age 10. I do not know about the rest of that cohort. When I was an adolescent the average age was many years older and in my mother's generation the average age was many years older than mine. I wonder what the trend is now. Are seven year-olds menstruating?

There are some conservatives males who think that a woman loses her virginity to a Tampax extra absorbent tampon.

Depends. A tampon might already be bigger than that guy.
I think the main reason some men value virginity so much is they dread comparison.
That is a possibility.

That makes no sense.

I never in my LIFE understood the desire for a virgen.

I want a lady that knows her way around a dick. Knows what she's doing. Is confident.

Not some blushing, scared girl who's just hmgonna lay there too afraid to move.

Blows my mind.

This thread is getting a little racy. I've been married for long enough that I should be able to handle it. (In fact today it is 46 years.) But you never know when you're going to make a slip of the pen. :)

It grieves me that people such as Mays are free to breed.

A woman cannot be robbed of her virginity. A tampon can't do it. A broken hymen from horseback riding can't do it. Even rape can't do it. A woman loses her virginity the first time she voluntarily engages in intercourse..

New ****ing Rule.
