DNC panel pushes to scrap David Hogg's vice chair election (4 Viewers)

They lost for a lot reasons and one of the big ones is they allowed the party to be pulled into crazy town by nutbag progressives on social issues.

If politicians are running on social issues, it's because they have no domestic policy agenda. And progressive policy issues are overwhelmingly popular.

The message to the party was/is clear - they need to move back to the center on social issues instead of doubling down on crazy. And that means getting rid of the progressive mole who is trying to undermine that shift.

Where's the center? Half way between Obama and Steven Miller?

Social grievance is all progressives have. If they were “overwhelmingly popular” then they could stand on their own two feet instead of latching on to the DNC teat for dear life. Of course, we know they aren’t and we all saw what happened when they tried to do that in 2020 - total chaos. They didn’t get anything done at their convention because they spent the entire time fighting each other over triggers and “personal points of privilege.” 😂

The center was where the party was in the late 90s and early 2000s. Back when even the progressive god Bernie Sanders believed in the right of States and the people to make decisions on social issues. Before identity politics became the only banner they had to fly and they let nutbag progressives turn the party and its platform into a freak show that alienated the average American. When the party had a plan and a backbone and didn’t have knee jerk reactions to every Twitter persona with an opinion.

They'd better quickly figure out if they're going to go all-in on being a far left party or ditch the progressives and be moderate. They can't have it both ways and still stand a chance to win.
The clock is ticking…

Shouldn't someone who advocates policies and politicians who have single digit support show a bit more humility?

So basically anti-gay in the political space.

Identity politics were (ironically) used by Clinton's campaign against Bernie to deflect from his criticism of neoliberal policies. Which are overwhelmingly unpopular and basically have multiple governments teetering on the edge of fascism.

You failed to actually address the post. But, thanks for the response.
Is this the golden era of the American economy that your political girlfriend promised? Trade wars, high gas prices and MAGAs struggling to pay their bills while Republican businesses get hammered.

I think many of you are going to have to cut back to zero dolls while the Trump Administration cuts funding to keep humans alive.

He was looking in the mirror.
MAGA thinking they know what's best for DNC is amusing at best.
Literally this "story" has the ripple effect of throwing a grain on sand in the ocean.

That's why they're the Democrat party. Nothing about the DNC is democratic.

Wonder who they'll hand select for their Presidential candidate next go round?
Whomever it is, they'll be going against Trump.

Nah….it’a all good.

Folks who know that Hogg isn't going to help win one election.
Him not getting this vice chair post doesn't do anything for the elections.
Time to move on.
Wonderful. Just want clarification. Making sure weren’t try to speak for everyone. ;)

I didn’t advocate for Kamala. I warned Democrats they were setting themselves up for an epic loss with her and that’s exactly what happened.

No. Recognizing that it is improper to use the Federal government and its tentacles as a cudgel to impose social values.

I think you need to learn the difference between popular and being a squeaky wheel. Progressive social positions are profoundly unpopular and just have obnoxiously noisy fringe activism behind it. You guys are not popular. That’s why you have to rely on the DNC in the first place.

Exactly. That party NEVER lets the public decide. They always put a thumb on the scale.

I think they would do best to stick by him. As he has made clear, he is only going after those in "safe" seats.
Trumpco does this all the ****ing time, it is funny to watch pretend republicans offering up opinions that this this idea is a bad thing.
Going after more moderate Democrats in "safe" seats can still put those seats at risk. Moreover, best case scenario, it puts more far left Democrats in the House, which makes it much harder for Democrats to govern when they have a majority. Why would Democrats want the problem Republicans have where half their caucus are lunatics?

Yes, trade wars and tariffs and high gas prices and Banks and large companies nickel and doming everybody more and more is just the perfect economy for people like you.

But don't worry, the tourism industry in our country is not going to be hit at all. Or hotels. Or restaurants.

That's why RNC never seriously considered anyone else besides Trump.
He muscled his way in back in Nov 2022.
And if he muscles his way in for 2028, RNC will do nothing to stop it.

I am curious as to what you believe is a “high gas” price?
I am curious as to what you mean by “people like you (me)?
I live in a tourist community, and I can assure you it is as busy as ever. My friends who own a vacation rental are booked for the entire season already. ;)

I don't think so. No one is going to be OK with another President serving more than two terms.

Word on the street is that Nicolas Maduro has the inside shot.

Trump has already mentioned he was seriously thinking of running again in 2028 and no one from his camp has come out and specifically said "President Trump cannot run again in 2028, its against the Constitution."

Actually, I think this has more to do with incumbents in those districts who are facing a primary fight from the far left fighting back. Then too, far left candidates do poorly in swing or competitive districts. Since last years defeat, the democratic party hasn’t decided in what direction the party should go either or decided on who’s going to lead the democratic party. Infighting for control still reigns and this is just another one of those fights.

Completely ignoring the fact that Democrats lost in November because the Leftwing of the party either stayed home or protest voted Green.
