Democratic finance chair under fire for fundraising for Clinton campaign

The Democratic National Committee's finance chairman is apparently in violation of his own party's rules after it was revealed that he is helping raise money for Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Henry R. Muñoz III, a former fundraiser for President Barack Obama and the current DNC finance chairman, is helping organize a fundraiser for Clinton's presidential campaign this week in San Antonio, Texas – a violation of party rules that stipulate that officers remain neutral in presidential primaries, Democratic operative Gilberto Ocañas and Bexar County Democratic Party Chairman Manuel Medina told Politico.

Can someone explain how a chairman required to remain neutral can actively fund raise for a particular candidate? The DNC appears willing to break its own rules-im not surprised.

Does the DNC not want an open and fair election, even within its own party?

Because inner party rules dont have the backing of federal law and state laws.

Ah I see, so since they aren't bound by law, and merely for display purposes only, its ok?

Why don't they just change their own self imposed rules to "do whatever you want"?

Why is the democrat party not interested in a fair and open election, in your view?

I didnt say its okay. I just simply answered your question. Why do you think this is happening? Sanders is a threat to the establishment....

Beats me.

Why is the democrat party not interested in a fair and open election, in your view?
This is where you will always find me at conflict with almost all your criticism. Its overtly partisan, and overtly mutually exclusive between the parties.

All I am doing is holding the democrat party accountable to its OWN, SELF IMPOSED standards. Thats fair game, is it not?

Now from my perspective (granted im not a leftist and stand for principles over expediency) the rules matter. A fair and open primary is a HEALTHY thing for my party and its candidates. It strengthens the discussion and debate, and it strengthens the candidates.

The left speaks loudly about its ideals of democracy, elections, transparency-and yet when it comes to ITS OWN AFFAIRS, it suddenly, corruptly, and transparently plays favorites.

Now, maybe you dont consider yourself a democrat, but even if you simply vote democrat-you should be ashamed at this scam. And also, you should never wonder why there is a common conception that leftists not only stab each other in the back like its cool, but will say or do anything (principles, standards, and laws be damned) if it gets them into power.

Here is where you reflexively type REPUBLICANS DO IT TO, thereby missing the point completely.

Did I say it wasnt "fair game"? Hillary Clinton making imagination playground (or whatever the **** playing with large blue blocks was called on an island) reschedule an event, not fair game. Democrats breaking their own party rules, fair game.

All I did was answer your question.

I agree...

Oh you are on the "right". You must be on the side of a pure, open, fully transparent, great party that is all angels and fairy dust!

The left speaks loudly about its ideals of democracy, elections,
So the "left" (a term which has been so misconstrued and misinterpreted as hackish talking point to many on the far right as a term which means anyone 'to the left of me'), is the only ones who are in favor of democracy? Are you saying 'the right' (whatever the **** that means in American politics) does not uphold democracy and elections? Or is this the card of "well 'Murica cant be a republic and a democracy cuz we are a republic! And a republic is a republic! And you cant have democracy in a republic, cuz check out this quote from a founding father about direct democracy"?

transparency-and yet when it comes to ITS OWN AFFAIRS, it suddenly, corruptly, and transparently plays favorites.
1.)So "the right" isnt in favor of transparency?
2.)You do realize the 'rights party' AKA Republicans isnt this pure little happy party which is very principled and awesome, as you paint them as right?

Now, maybe you dont consider yourself a democrat,
No I dont. Not at all.

but even if you simply vote democrat-you should be ashamed at this scam.
I should be "ashamed"? Why? Im more of  typical US Politics... Wait no. Not even "meh US politics". This is more of a, "this is ****ing politics in general."

And also, you should never wonder why there is a common conception that leftists not only stab each other in the back like its cool, but will say or do anything (principles, standards, and laws be damned) if it gets them into power.
:doh Again with this hackish ****, using a catch all term that literally has no substance or meaning behind it.

Here is where you reflexively type REPUBLICANS DO IT TO, thereby missing the point completely.
Well your whole point has essentially been "the left stabs eachoter in the back", "the left is bad", "look at the left", "I dont like the left", "left", "the left". What the **** does the "left" even mean? All your argument are "left" vs "right", and drives out any critical thinking and only makes them partisan and hackish arguments of my big party tent agains your big party tent, thus throwing any substance and productive debate out the window.

Long way of saying yes, you've missed the point.

I wonder what the DNC's response will be.

Then what is your "point"?

Is it really that inconspicuous?

The main idea can usually be found in the beginning, middle, or end of a passage. Here it is found in the end.

This means our elections arent open or fair? We no longer have free and fair elections because of this?

I'm pretty sure both parties violate rules all the time. If only we had transparency, we'd probably have a lot more outrage.

Ah yes equivocation, you are the 2nd lefty to use that argument here. It totally helps your argument.

I'm just saying, the Republocrats in general are a corrupt organization doing everything they can to maintain their power over the People. Attacking one branch without attacking the other does nothing.

Im just saying, the Republicans have nothing to do with the DNC finance chair violating his neutrality to shill for Clinton. :2wave:

Yes, in this case they haven't done anything wrong, that means they don't do anything wrong and should be supported!

No, the Republocrats are corrupt, if we had an open system and knew the transgressions of our single party, we'd probably be a lot more outraged than we are now.
