d'oh. Thought the poll option was automatic. Any mod please add a "yes" "no" "i dont know" poll with the title of this thread as the question.
Listening to the Tea Party debate i heard non-stop accusations that its Obama's fault for the US's current economic and job problems. What SPECIFICALLY has Obama done to cause or to contribute to the current economic and job crisis, if anything?
Certainly, all the billions of dollars that he squandered on fraudulent, wasteful “bailouts” and “stimuli” scams, driving this nation deeper into debt at a rate never before seen, had to have contributed significantly to the current economic mess.
In electing Obama to the White House in 2008, and at the same time handing Congress over to the Democrats, we basically handed the nation's checkbook and credit cards over to a gang of unruly, irresponsible, out-of-control teenagers. We can only hope that in 2012, we'll let grown-ups retake control of these things.
Umm, at the time Obama was elected in 2008, the debt was already increasing by an alarming rate of $1.5 trillion a year. How is Obama to blame for that? Shouldn't you be complaining about George Bush who was president at that time?Certainly, all the billions of dollars that he squandered on fraudulent, wasteful “bailouts” and “stimuli” scams, driving this nation deeper into debt at a rate never before seen, had to have contributed significantly to the current economic mess.

The difference is one of them helped create this mess while the other one didn't.What's the difference?

Yes, it is very adult to make up stories about how preventing mass bankruptcies is a waste of public resources. Mature and responsible, just like how the Republican Party carried itself throughout that credit rating debacle.

Well for one, he's not borrowing half a trillion dollars to launch an all out war to invade a country over weapons they don't have. For another, he's not pushing GSE's to buy up 5 to 6 million mortgages for those who can least afford them without first making sure legislation is passed to prevent a complete financial meltdown in case such a policy becomes consumed with corruption. What is the latter really doing differently?
His one vote out of one hundred, even on the wrong side of the issue, would not have made a difference no matter how he voted. The same cannot be said about Bush's one vote out of one.Dude, Obama was a senator during GWB's presidency. He had the capacity and responsibility to vote for or against all of that spending...so how was his record there?

Maybe that's your logic. but that's not logic derived from what I said.Right...so by your logic the senate and house are all worthless? So we elected somebody who was wasting time in the state and federal senate for 6+ years before becoming president?

As a body, the Senate and House are extremely useful ... but assigning blame to one specific Congressman/woman who represents just 1/100th of the vote in the Senate and 1/435th of the vote in House is beyond ridiculous. That's why presidents bear so much more responsibility for the legislation they sign into law than individual members of Congress since their vote represents 1/1 of the vote.
Possibly, depends on the circumstances. Which bill do you speak of specifically? So if Obama doesn't attempt to end legislation signed Bush, is he THEN responsible?

No, Bush is not at all responsible for Cash for Clunkers, but then Cash for Clunkers didn't drive our economy to the edge of the cliff of complete economic disaster. That's the difference between Bush and ObamaWas Bush responsible for the “Cash for Clunkers”*scam? All the bank bailouts? The nationalization of General Motors? The “ObamaCare” scam?
No, I don't. Bush and Republicans (and to a far lesser degree, Democrats) royally ****ed this nation in the proverbial ass just like Hoover and Republicans did 80 years earlier. I don't know what the statute of limitations is on that, but I believe it's more than 2½ years.Don't you think that, by now, it is way past time to continue blaming Bush for the economic mess that Obama and his lackeys have made?
How'd that bailout go for Bank of America, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae?? They're all still limping along, and BofA is in big, big trouble.
Nothing, the recession started in 2008 before Obama was elected. Two million private sector jobs were lost between election day and inauguration day.Listening to the Tea Party debate i heard non-stop accusations that its Obama's fault for the US's current economic and job problems.
