Did former President Jimmy Carter cross the line

I think he was exactly right when he said what he did. Now if at any point during this process the Repulican leaders would have made the choice to do the right thing things may be viewed differently. Where there has been many many acts of blatant racism, we have yet to see ONE republican leader call for these act to stop or try to distance the Republican party from this in any way what so ever. They have promoted a feeding frenzy off of this racist hate crap and this Wison trashspewing creep is just another rat feeding off of this hatemonger rehetoric and is a obviouis byproduct of Republican leaders refusing to distance themselves and their party from this type of hate.

When people start to die what is their excuse going to be then?

How an outburst that had ZERO racial content and ZERO racial context, other than it HAPPENED to be from a white to a half-black, is beyond me. Maybe Carter thinks he can read minds, like some DP forum posters.

Wilson violated the rules of decorum, sure. He wasn't entirely wrong though, the bill did have loopholes that would have been exploited by illegals.

Carter is an old attention-whore, and a stupid one at that.

Do you really think that Wilson was being tolerant, or "trying to get along" ?
Strange, but conditions are far better than they were 50 years ago, to the chagrin of the conservatives..

Yes, every single day Wilson tries to get along and be tolerant. There is nothing to indicate that he is a racist.

Yes, conditions are better than 50 years ago because of thousands and millions of Wilsons who have made an effort. So everybody just shut up about imaginary racism or it will stop getting better!

Wilson crossed a line and Carter crossed a line.

Viewed by who....differently? And does that view really matter, I mean, is it an objective honest view or one clouded, fogged, and scorched by political motivation and disingenuous rhetoric. Cause, I know alot of Republicans and but I don't know any racists.

Where there has been many many acts of blatant racism, we have yet to see ONE republican leader call for these act to stop or try to distance the Republican party from this in any way what so ever.

That's because they're smarter. Now, I do believe Tom Delay back in the day would have crossed over to Wilson's chair and hit the eject button, Joe would have had to finish the speech in the back. However, he would have taken the attempted race card play and thrown it back at the Dems as has been done today and why you see Bill C and Obama hopping off the Carter wagon, they ain't contributing to this drivel. It's not doing their poll numbers any good, and while once tried and true, I believe the race card has a boy cried wolf attachment, I'd advise the President and his party to use it with more caution rarther than irresponsibly breaking it out whenever your agenda is getting fileted.

They have promoted a feeding frenzy off of this racist hate crap and this Wison trashspewing creep is just another rat feeding off of this hatemonger rehetoric and is a obviouis byproduct of Republican leaders refusing to distance themselves and their party from this type of hate.

We have promoted no such feeding frenzy, what we have promoted is Obama's poll numbers dropping like Romans in front of Hannibal's Army. In fact, opposition to this health care debacle is upwards of 56% according to polls that were once so honored and trusted by this Democratic Party. Today, they rarely mention the polls. I wonder why.

When people start to die what is their excuse going to be then?

We won't need one, the usual blame game will be played but....I think the audience of sheep buying into such arguments is shrinking. And it's about time.

I guess when the liberal playbook is used against liberals, it's the Worst Crime Imaginable, eh?

Where were the Democrats denouncing the "Nazi" stuff, and worse, over the last decade?

The truth is Carter's a Nazi.

Ahh, yes. Democrats are Nazis. But you do have a point. There are eerie parallels between the Nazis and Democrats:

While the comment itself was stupid, he never said anything about Democrats. A comment about a member of a political party it not a comment about the political party itself.

I believe that there has always been opposition to socialized medicine and that those arguments need to be taken at face value without psychoanalizing or looking for racial agendas just because Obama is Black.

I really think Carter did not exercise good sense with his comments and he should learn to live outside of the limelight for a change.
