Developing: Ukrainian President Agrees for First Time to Cede Territory to Russia in Order to End War

Zelensky appears to be trying to find a way to eventually involve NATO military forces in recovering the territory taken by Russia.

I don't think Russia will be engaging in a conventional war in the west. He's got his hands full engaging in one in Ukraine, where people thought he would take control in a couple of days.

His hybrid war is going full steam.

If an agreement is reached, the US should make it clear to Putin that the agreement will end the fighting, but all sanctions will remain in place until all Ukrainian land is returned.

I don't recall us agreeing on anything ,however i agree with that. If it comes to a conventional war with the west, even if it's limited to Europe, it could kick off WW3, however Russia cannot win a conventional war with Europe or the US.

As long as he continues to have long range strike capability, and Russian soldiers are continuing to take staggering losses. Not only is he in a position to make demands. He holds all the cards, and is negotiating from a position of strength.

One of their strengths is interfering in elections and wooing right-wing political parties, such as the GOP here, into their sphere of influence. Their tacit support for Putin in the Ukraine war is discouraging.

Oh, that's easy. @Mycroft sides with Putin because Trump sides with Putin.

Once Trump takes office, he will cut off all aid to Ukraine, sanction any country that continues to provide aid to Ukraine, and Russia will overrun Ukraine and the war will come to an end quickly, just as Trump promised.

It's weird that you didn't try to spin this as an example of Trump's success in diplomacy.
 
Zelensky is doing it now because Biden can't force him not to anymore.
