he was a migrant worker, cotton, apples/cherries, tomatoes , crops/veggies .....

born a USA citizen in 1935

see, this liberal Democrat media lie that "American's won't do that work" really isn't true ... they just want justification for the human trafficking/drug trafficking/sex trafficking and illegal activities IMO
That means in 1995, thirty years ago, he was sixty, was he still working in the fields? 1935 is a long way from even 1965. I can see that for maybe twenty years at best. Do you know how long he worked in the fields and if it was over twenty years, my hat is off to him.

People should watch the series the Men who Built America, they were pricks then and they are pricks now BUT it's just business, nothing personal as I step on your neck.
Get ready for the next season of "The Gilded Age".
And during that period we became the greatest economy in the world. How did that every happen with so many robber barons running around stepping on peoples' necks?

Aren't you happy you never have to worry about voting for or against him in the future? A big, beautiful Pond absolves you of all concern for that matter.
I know I'm glad I'll never have to think about that again.

I would never vote for Trump even if I had the chance as he's a complete disaster.
That he has any support left in the US after his actions is amazing and deeply depressing.

I am glad there are only 330 million of us living in the greatest country in the world. You can stay where you are.

But I love visiting the U.K. because of the beer, the people, the history, and the beauty of the countryside. Not necessarily in that order.

There is a lot of great open countryside to see even though the UK is tiny compared to the US.
I'm glad you visit and will always be welcome here.

Nation, not individuals, we were very disposable workers in their eyes and most folks were poor just trying to hang on. Not much different today for the masses.

Great. Tell me where you live and I'll bring over my family to stay with you.

In Trump's first 175 days in Office he has arrested and deported hundreds (Thousands) of Criminals that Biden/Obama & the DEM's let in to America!
These people have killed raped and harmed AMERICANS !

Do you DEMs HATE that Trump has protected America and Americans from these criminals the DEM's let in ?

Your baited straw poll only gives us one option. 🤨

Maybe its time for those who refuse to follow the "process" who invade our country, to be denied any "due" process on the way out.

Seems fair to me.
Without granting someone due process, there is no way to tell if he is is one of the people who abused the laws of the country (the kind of person to whom you allude above) or is an upstanding citizen. Without due process all people can simply be removed from the streets and locked up then transported without a chance to speak or to show their documents. American citizens who have good jobs and families can be sent to Sudan or imprisoned in El Salvador forever. Due process is the only thing that that stands between law and fascism.

No one is upset when an immigrant or illegal who has undergone due process and has been found guilty of crimes is deported.

To suggest otherwise is rather childish and immature since it is being done so to score points with no real interest in the problem at hand...only a child will think that "winning" is more important than real solutions.

And for the record not only have criminal illegals and immigrants who have committed crimes come under Trump's time, not only did Trump threaten to veto two bills in his first administration if they weren't killed in committee that would've provided better border security and an enhanced judicial system where illegals could be process (and most likely deported) in a manner of weeks and not years...but Trump also was able to convince Congress to go back on a bi-partisan bill that would've presented a solid foundation to protect the nation from illegals just so he could have a platform to run on for his second run at president!!

You want to blame Democrats, Obama and Biden? Go for it. But be intellectually honest and include Trump and the GOP: they are just as guilty. But you won't, because you are too desperate to "win"....

You can't compare the way Biden let just anyone walk right in our country to any of our previous POTUS.

It was truly historic.

Other - the accuracy of the Trump administration’s claims is doubtful.
The accuracy doesn't change that biden/Dems let the criminals in and Trump is kicking them out!

So do you believe the Media and DEM's who have FULLY lied & Gaslighted you for the last 8+ years,
but you doubt Trump's admin ?

No it is not childish etc...
It is to help the masses to see how insane the DNC's leadership is, and how harmful it is to ALL AMERICANS !

Yes there are the GOP folks who are a part of the Corrupt Status Quo (The REP-DEM Monopoly), who allow/enable the DEM's to commit these crimes against the Constitution and the American People !

It is NOT WINNING ! Is is to get The American People to have a F'n back bone and fight their "LESSER OF 2 EVILS PARTY"
just as hard as they fight against the "Other Side" , be cause We are "AMERICANS" and we should be fighting for the Constitution to be followed and upheld by all Politicians!

I post that the Trump administration lies and as proof that they don't lie, you quote the Trump administration.
That's funny.

he's not alive today, IIRC he was a migrant worker well into his teens until growing big enough to work timber in several states (migrant timber worker I guess you could say). His generation were men ... hard workers, timber, construction, industrial work etc. Dad did all that work, hard manual labor.

in the 80's I'd have no problem working fields - I did, it was just hay fields vs picking crops but I'd have done anything that paid $$$

"they do the jobs we won't" is a cop out and excuse IMO

In the late 70's I had tobacco crop (1.5 acres) and worked in the tobacco patches for the area farmers every day from March to sale in November. While also picking up hay bales for our farm and surrounding farms. Then at 3:00pm off I went and worked at the stove plant in town until midnight.

Up 0500 next morning headed to the fields. Wash-rinse-repeat

Hard work but it builds a work ethic that many don't have today. Times were different indeed.

lol.... How else was I going to pay for my Ford Courier with insurance and gas to boot?

They know their status. Thats why they are deported. So by your logic, they received due process.

Deportation of Legal Residents in the Second Trump Administration

Overview

During the second presidency of Donald Trump, there have been significant changes and intensifications in U.S. immigration policies, leading to the deportation of legal residents, including green card holders and even U.S. citizens. This has raised concerns among legal experts, civil rights activists, and the judiciary regarding the legality and humanitarian implications of these actions.

Deportation Statistics and Trends

  • First Month of Presidency: As of February 1, 2025, 37,660 individuals were deported during the first month of Trump's second term.2
  • Arrests and Detainers: By February 4, 2025, 10,542 detainers had been lodged.2

Legal Residents and Green Card Holders

  • Legal Basis: The federal government can indeed deport green card holders under certain circumstances, such as criminal convictions or violations of immigration law.4
  • Increased Pressure: The Trump administration has significantly increased the pressure on legal residents, leading to a higher number of deportations and detentions.5

Notable Cases

  • Two-Year-Old U.S. Citizen: In April 2025, a two-year-old U.S. citizen was deported from the country with no meaningful process, according to a federal judge.2
  • Mother of One-Year-Old: Another case involved the deportation of a mother of a one-year-old girl, separating them indefinitely.2
  • Children with Medical Conditions: A 7-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother, who has stage 4 cancer, were deported despite the severity of the younger child's condition.5
  • Military Veteran: A military veteran was also among those detained and questioned by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).5

Judicial and Legal Challenges

  • Court Rulings: District Judge Terry Doughty highlighted that the deportation of a U.S. citizen is "illegal and unconstitutional" and ordered a hearing on the matter.5
  • ACLU Response: The executive director of the ACLU of Louisiana condemned the government's actions, calling them "outrageous" and demanding the return of the families.5

You are only denying facts. Just because you and your dad did some outdoor work doesn't mean other white folks did. You didn't see white folks picking cotton as the majority of people working in the fields...for that matter any fields unless you go back to when the country was first being born and almost everyone raised and grew their own food. After industrialization, people flocked to the cities and allowing migrant workers from Mexico was a blessing. My how we have demonized them today to all being criminals and rapists and you can thank republicans for that load of bullshit. Most of my working life was outdoors from working in the northwest in the freezing cold to the heat of Florida in the summer. Gotta' pay the bills as trump the shill would say.

so blacks couldn't get work for 100 years because whites had all the jobs ... but at the same time you're saying white folks didn't do the work

wow

whites were too poor to have cameras :)

until they're vetted we have no idea who they are - it could be 50% criminals/rapists or 1% ... we don't know. THAT is the entire problem, millions coming here illegally
