Democrats want to use the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from Office

I saw this story about a week ago, I think it's incredible. I know there is this Constitutional provision, but it sure seems difficult to achieve, almost like one would need to make Pence a co-conspirator. How would one deal with competing expert witnesses offering different psychiatric evaluations? Where would they get the votes to oust Trump? Has anyone thought about the precedent something like this would set? Plenty of critical lefties describe Trump in rather extreme terms, but do they believe their own exaggeration? I remember how Bush was said to be an authentic idiot who could barely read, he was supposed to actually be dumb. Now we get the same view of Trump who gets described as a madman, a genuine lunatic (also as adulterous, misogynistic, fascist, racist, incestuous, and -of course, he's a Nazi too). I'm sure the critical left can substantiate with sources they find credible each and every characterization, but to claim the president is unfit for office by reason of some mental impairment will require scientifically verifiable objective standards.

Here... why not debunk it? You call it "right-wing hackery"... if it is so, you'll have no problem surgically removing the hack from the fact. Tell us why Hillary lost, and why the Left is so sane these days... LOL.

Tell me what it is wrong with the post below? ROTFLOL...

You cannot, so you resort to your typical mess of ad Hominems. Is it you who is the thoughtless hack? Seems so.

You dismiss without making a case... because you incapable of making one. You're out of your league... and you know it. You make inane comments, and think it is enough. Sorry Bub, it's not. Inane comments are not a case made. So, try again... won't you?

I've numbered the post to make it very easy for you to reference... You see... I want to make it easy for you to reply without descending into a run-along, vomit-athon of ad hominems... so... give it a go... ROTFLOL...

... You can't... hence your ultra-lame reply above.

It's all Demokrats have these days.

Now what did I tell you zim? Post something that is not right wing hack soapboxing, and we can have a discussion. Don't and I'll just point out what you're doing. Your choice.

It doesn't seem to be a problem, since the Republicans control all three houses and potentially the Supreme Court.

It's clear that the Conservative agenda has plenty of validity. The Left should concern themselves less with dehumanization and more with why that validity exists.

No, as I said, all it means is that there are more right wingers who now accept the invalidity.

well raising the basically base income to 30k should offset the need for any tax credits for most people.
I don't mind the housing deduction.

I am a huge fan of the fair tax which is the national tax you speak of. that will never get passed though. almost no liberal would support it.
just like almost no liberal would support my idea.

even though it is logical and makes sense. in order to get more taxes you need economic activity.
the median income in the US is about 56k dollars.

so the average American would only pay 2.6k in taxes after the standard deduction.
that equates to 100 dollars a check over 26 checks. depending on how you were paid it would be different.

that is a typical bi-weekly check.

even if you were to get a raise to 60k or a job making 60k your taxes would only go up 15 dollars.
this plan very much promotes prosperity and economic activity to punishing people for doing better.

it pretty much helps poorer people as they can make up to 30k tax free. so if they are working and their salary is < 30k
they get their full pay check. not including (ss etc ...)

I agree with pretty much everything you say above. This is definitely an area where I do not support the common liberal position. If we look at what you or I suggested, both are somewhat progressive, but give a lot of the responsibility to the individual in managing their money. For example, if we have a national sales tax, I keep my entire salary, and how much I send to the government depends on how much I spend. Not only does this cause me to have far more control over how I manage my life, but it also allows for the government to issue "incentives" for things like "buying American" and such. Makes a lot of sense to me.

I find your lame attempt at rewriting history vauge and unconvincing.

You know who Lincoln was and what party he was with but persist in a failed atempt to rewrite history.

Didn't rewrite history at all. You're denying it. I never said a thing about Republicans. I said conservatives happened to be Democrats at the time.

I could care less about evangelical anything. I would rather at least have an attempt at moral behavior and fail than have no morals at all as democrats have demonstrated time and time again in enslaving millions to entitlement programs and killed generations of potential americans in the doctors office.

Since morality is relative, your comments demonstrate exactly what I said. You all try to legislate based on YOUR morality rather than on freedoms. You may not care about evangelicalism, but your comments smack of that kind of thing.

Republicans are just as bad as democrats and even worse because they capitulate to the democrats when it suits them.

Opposite day? Thoughtful fiscal conservatives are not rioting at speaking engagements. They are not murdering the president theatrically or parading the leader of the free worlds severed head to the cameras. They arent even ambushing congressmen in baseball fields. They are not calling for blood in the streets as prominent democrats have like lynch and kane.

We all know who is doing that as a group or individually.

Yes we appreciate freedom and the right to be left in peace. Democrats appreciate enlavement and the right to put their butt in your face.

If you hate america so much why stay? it must be so stressful.

Happy 4th of July.

This is an excellent example of the conservatives mindset. Either believe what I believe or you must hate America. Why do you hate freedom so much? Seems like a Republican problem since we usually only hear stuff like this from you folks.

It's based on different theorems. Two and two needn't equal four in it; they could equal y, or they might not even equal. A baby's mind is not yet conditioned, except by certain questionable factors of heredity and environment. Start the infant on Euclid --"

Nice attempt at a dodge.

You've had a lot of time to answer the post below (reposted and numbered to make it easy for you). It's not soap-boxing, it is a response to your "soap-boxing".

So give it a try.

Illustrate where my response to you is fundamentally flawed.

This should be easy... but it isn't for you, because you have no response. That is why you run and dodge.

Man up. This is debatepolitics.com ... I responded to your soapbox post... with a thoughtful response rebutting your idiocy. So have a go Champ. Don't be cowardly.

I've added your "soapbox" post as a reference so you can recall what I responded to.

Bon apetit.

Zimmer' reply:

1. "They"... were former D voters in states that felt left out in The Demokrats Amerika.

2. "They" won Trump the election.

3. "They" saw an anti-American party that didn't care about jobs, taxes, failed ObamaKare, the tsunami of illegal immigration, depleted military, and absurd foreign policy... and Trump addressed those issues in a manner that made them pull the lever for him.

4. If you look at the closing weeks of the election... The Obama's and Clintons went as low as they could go. They had no message. Trump on the other hand, kept pounding illegal immigration (down significantly), jobs/economy (on the rise), repealing ObamaKare, stronger military, dumping crap trade agreements and the like.

5. The Demokrats have lost their minds, and the Goebbels Media, formerly known as The Mainstream Media, have been a perfect example of that mind losing. They're not journalists... they're damn near insane. If it wasn't so sad, it'd be funny. Actually, it is funny, because these clowns have revealed their true, ugly selves... and the ugliness of their supporters.

6. Hillary did not have an agenda, and Demokrats today still do not have one.

7. All Demokrats have to date is a regional, coastal party, and to display their displeasure at their current, self-inflicted wounds, they attempt to deny free speech (and in some instances succeed), vandalize, foment violence and are violent.

8. What are the Demokrats ideas? Weak military? Open borders? High taxation? Pro-abortion and baby part sales.

9. We've tried your idiotic ideas for a half century, and all it's gotten us is 20 TRILLION of debt, 65 TRILLION of unfunded liabilities, and most important for Demokrats... class warfare and a divided nation.

10. I say it's time for Demokrats to go sit in the corner and figure out how your perverted schemes have screwed the country.

11. Instead, 13% of Demokrats have signed onto this 25th amendment idiocy... and more are sure to follow.

12. Talk about childish losers... Phew!

A good number of Republicans want Pence to use Amendment XXV.

Stoned and irate Leftists do not constitute... "Republicans".

even under the fair tax you don't pay taxes up to the poverty level for you size of family.
so like a family of 4 wouldn't pay taxes on the first 25000 dollars they spent.

if we have a national sales tax current income taxes would have to go away.

people would truly have economic freedom at that point.

I would not think so, either. However there is a strong minority in the Republican Party that would love to just replace Trump with Pence period, and I suspect a majority that would go for away of doing it that did not rebound on the party and its spear carriers.

That has not happened in states with sales taxes.

"Strong minority" means nothing.

I wish they would come out and identify themselves... this "strong minority".

It's a free country... tell us why you want Trump gone. So they can be identified... supported or defeated.

The biggest conservatives from 1854 to the 1930s were Democrats, responsible for slavery and segregation, etc. Bad people. Conservatives are far too often bad people.

Your upset is really not meaningful. You know there is a strong unrest in the GOP against Trump. Live with it. He has to.

I don't know how you measure your claims. They were measured on Nov. 8, 2016... he won.

They were also measured in the past months, and R's also won all their special elections despite much effort on behalf of the candidates from the Goebbels Media and Hollywood.

So what defines "strong"? Compared to what?

What proof is there of this "strong" unrest?

That has not happened in states with sales taxes.

again you show you can't address what we are talking about. why is that?
we are not talking about states with sales tax. your post is yet gain irrelevant to the discussion.

I would try reading what is being discussed then responding.

Oh, look, a terribly wordy insult is still an insult. Crapping out a word salad doesn't make you superior, it just makes you wordy.

I took calculus, Haymarket. Don't assume.

Liberals can't win at the ballot box so they have to resort to stunts like assassination and this catastrophe.

Actually it's Republicans that can't win at the ballot box so they have to resort to gerrymandering, voter suppression, asking Russia for help, launching bull**** criminal investigations against their opponents, blocking supreme court nominations, and using the electoral college to circumvent what the majority of Americans want.

If Donald Trump is mentally unfit for president then he should removed. What is it with Republicans and electing presidents with serious mental problems?

What is gerrymandering? Can you define the process please?

The Demokrats

Not an actual group

Not an actual place.

ObamaKare

Not an actual law

When you make up gibberish words that aren't real why should anyone bother to try and respond with worth while useful counter points? Gibberish isn't an argument, it's nonsense.

S.C. nominations are appointments. They don't happen at the ballot box. As for using the E.C. to circumvent the majority of Americans: it wouldn't be a problem if the Democratic Party didn't reduce themselves to a regional stronghold within large metropolitan areas.

Democrats do not have enough votes in the House or Senate to pass any Bills without significant GOP support: Dems Draft Bill That Could Activate 25th Amendment Powers to Remove Trump | Fox News Insider

The assumption is either they'd be able to persuade enough disgruntled Republicans to their side or they'd gain enough seats during the 2018 mid-term elections. They'd also have to get the VP Pence onboard and he's so far up Pres. Trump's butt he makes former VP Biden's man-crush on Obama look like a failed bro-mance.

Regardless, using the 25th Amendment is one huge gamble! I don't think they stand a snowball's chance in hell to pull it off, not without winning back a super-majority in both chambers.
