Democrats push to eliminate the debt ceiling, allow unlimited government borrowing

Really? have you told that to Treasury? do I have to post another link showing the rate cuts that you won't pay any attention to? You like far too many ignore high state and local taxes which may have caused you to pay higher taxes with the actual rate cuts. Federal gov't doesn't control state and local taxes.
state and local taxes are irrelevant to this discussion.

It means the deficit was 2x larger than what he inherited
So what? you cannot tell us the line items and what impact Covid had on those deficits, why does it matter. What has Biden done about the deficits? cutting the deficits still adds to the debt

what do you think would have happened had Trump not gotten rid of the Pandemic research team? They were put in place for a reason. What do you think would have happened had Trump taken Covid seriously when it was still not in the US?

No they are completely relevant, your high state and local taxes are no longer fully deductible which they never should have been as FIT funds the federal operating expenses. You get a tax rate cut unless you are in the lowest tax bracket, admit it. want the link that you will ignore?

No, they aren't. We are talking about federal taxes, what Trump did with the tax cut and how that has affected the federal deficit. Has nothing to do with your local tax payments....good grief.

No idea nor do I care. Biden is President and a total disaster. I don't need a President to tell me how to respond to a virus. I had two parents that taught me personal responsibility which apparently doesn't exist with the left

Why do you care what someone else does with their money? FIT revenue grew according to Treasury and another poster posted the Treasury chart in this forum. You keep letting the left make a fool out of you

of course you don't care that 1.12 million people died. A disaster? So, what was Trump's presidency? I know what, it was a complete melt down. Biden reduced the deficit so, he is a disaster....Trump increased it and woo hoo good job Trump.

Cool.

My Socialist BidenCare™ plan MUST be administered to and properly funded Jonny. Health care is expensive!!

I'd like to see spending increased in this area quite frankly. Theres PLENTY of money. Everyone is saying theres plenty of money. People are telling me that. (y)

Again. For the 10th time. The deficit doubled BEFORE covid hit. You keep bringing up covid in response.

Take a breath. BEFORE covid, Trump doubled the deficit.

I said this earlier in the thread. You asked me to show you the "line items" and numbers direct from the Treasury department.

I did. I posted the financial report for 2019 which gives a YoY summary compared to 2018. It's all there.

And here we are, still shouting "COVID!" and "Line Items!!!" at the sky

Where do you draw from my post that I am dictating what someone does with their money?

you don't feel 32 trillion is enough debt ?

I hated the debt Obama added, Trump wasn't better, Biden is worse ..........

you need to link the above please - THOUSANDS ? seriously?
My understanding is that the USA can keep going on deficit spending until someone calls us on it, and since damn near everyone on the planet is in the same network of ****ery that's not likely.

In other words, so long as we keep paying interest on our debt we're good.
And since we literally just ****ing create money (digitally) whenever needed, it's just a matter of balancing the increasing money supply against the available things to spend it on, so as to avoid inflation.

Or something like that, I can't say I'm anything even approaching an expert.

Did you hear that Trump had the greatest economy in the history of the world before COVID and still doubled the deficit to $1trillion from $475billion in 2 years?

King of debt I tell ya

No, the issue here is the blame you are placing on Republicans, I understand context which apparently you don't. I told you what caused the 2017-2019 deficits and you ignored it, it was uncontrollable by the President. Same with 2020 unless you wanted to let those 26 million unemployed Americans suffer. There was no justification for the 2021 deficit caused by spending which drove up inflation and that had a negative impact on financing of the debt. Interest on the debt is short term affected by rate increases
I don't blame Republicans. You are blaming Democrats because context matters to you only when Republicans raise the deficit and increase the debt ceiling. It clearly doesn't matter to you when Democrats do it.

In 2008 the US GDP was $15trillion
In 2022 it is $25 trillion

Debt only matters relative to GDP, revenue and inflation rates. Bonds are fixed payment terms. We can't just "pay off our debt" like it's a mortgage. We give fixed monthly payments, as that is the contract. We can't just willy nilly givegovernment bond holders face value and say, "welp we paid off our debt!"

Trump added to the deficit every year he was in office and you pretended otherwise. Now you suddenly care about fiscal responsibility?

Nobody other than nutters take your positions seriously.

All because of Trump? So sorry that you need a President to tell you what to do with a virus. Biden reduced personal wealth, congratulations

Your loyalty to the D is stunning almost as great as your ignorant of civics, economics. Do you know the components of GDP, didn't think so

The statement that you didn't get a tax cut and that Trump benefited as did all taxpayers including you

Democrat policies do not promote the private sector or state and local responsibility so yes they are to blame as the line items in the budget show. I was a Democrat, were you ever a Republican?

Yes they do. This is a Republican myth.
