I wonder what this does to the Georgia runoff next month.

Makes more important - difference between a 50-50 will VP breaking tie and a 51-49 split.

Has it been called ?

I know they where waiting on vote counting from Clark County, a huge batch. Las Vegas leans Dem.

Control is control. Explain the difference, please.

Very happy to see this. Not because I expect any major legislation in the next two years, but just so Biden can continue staffing the executive and judicial branches and generally keeping the lights on.

It exposes Herschel Walker, the man, given that he no longer represents Republican control of the Senate. Walker "the man" is a very bad candidate. He will get some national assistance, but less. The Georgia election already showed us there is no enthusiasm for Walker, and there is even less now. Warnock wins this by 5-7 points without breaking much of a sweat.

Add Walker to the long list of idiotic choices the Republicans made because Trump told them to... Once again, 'nice leadership, Donnie"

Thoughts and prayers to the domestic help at MarALago. Lots of broken plates to sweep up and ketchup oozing down the walls that must be wiped....

Yes, it has been called. The batch of 20K votes went 61-39 in favor of Cortez Masto, giving her a 5K vote lead with almost all of the vote counted.

I'd say it was the end of the 2022 GOP disaster, but Trump hasn't eaten a baby on television yet.

I think there will be an even deeper dive into Walker’s past, now that he isn’t sharing the lights with any other races.

That is truly a unique take on this. The Dems have accomplished quite a bit with a 50-50 split. How will an extra vote make that much of a difference worthy of "it makes it MORE important"? You need to elaborate as on face value, that seems nonsensical. "Still important" I can buy; "More important", I can not. I think you are over your skis here, but let's hear your answer.

I agree it makes some difference), but the increment from 49 to 50, which involves control of the Senate, seems MUCH, MUCH greater than the increment from 50 to 51.

I don't think it helps the Georgia race, because Dems don't HAVE to win that now. But Warnock will be fine anyway, due to the 8.5% split ticket compared to Governor Kemp. Walker won't have those coat-tails next month.

You do understand the VP doesn't stand in the hall awaiting to cast the deciding vote, right? At 51-49, votes can go faster just by roll call. And yes they did quite a bit of damage at 50-50.

Yes, I do understand that. It is an incredible luxury. But you said the race is now "MORE" important. "Still important" I can buy, but "more important", which is your contention, seems seems. You did not make your case with the above. Again, no one else is saying this, so you need to make the case.

Judges is a big thing.

And if Uncle Clarence and one or two of his partners in crime will just spontaneously combust we can save the nation from the so called supreme court.

Agree on NO ‘major’ legislation with a gop house.
It will take them a while just to get their house in order.

DEMs didn’t get the message out on their legislative achievements. This needs to be a new and renewed focus.

Popular opinion is that Republicans in the House will be nothing but a pain in the ass. But that's Trump thinking. They might actually be prepared to work with Democrats on the less divisive issues (like infrastructure, Ukraine aid or trade with China.) I doubt this would be so if they'd taken the Senate as well.
