Democrats and the race card

This is not the way they think. DeBlasio and Garcetti and the Seattle City Council as well as the Portland and Chicago mayors are all cultural Marxists who think that people just won't leave because they love their city so much and that they can tax them and tax them some more to pay for those who haven't put in the work and the time. This is exactly what Ayn Rand was writing about in Atlas Shrugged. The Galts are fleeing the above mentioned cities in droves now and the exodus will continue. When the Galts are gone and those cities that used to be safe and sound will descend into lawlessness and chaos like Detroit.

It was a serious question. How much money do the countries you mentioned confiscate from their citizenry to pay for the things they do?

Actually that is not what I propose. What I do propose is the same thing that Warren Buffett proposed

The rich get a lot of loopholes and ways to pay lower taxes simply because they can hire the best lawyers and CPA's and because laws have been written to give them advantages in paying taxes over the regular people. You think the statement above about him paying a lower tax rate than his secretary is right?

Confiscate? None of the countries confiscate anything. It is what has been decided by vote and everyone agreed to it. Greed is not as big in those countries as here. Greed is lauded here and makes people that already have enough money for 5 life times for themselves and all the family people (nieces and nephews included) to live without having to work 1 minute. Uncontrolled greed is bad. Anything in extreme is bad.

When the rich people buy things or put the money they make in the bank, that creates tens of thousands of jobs. If they give that to the government it is wasted on fraud and incompetence and like a charity, 5% may go to the poor people. The rest goes to gubment employees.

No, he doesn't but he has stated that it is not right. That is what the Democrats are trying to do - "make things right". The Republicans do not care about excesses. They welcome them. No, it is not. The financial incentive may be reduced but the giving incentive is increased. In addition, more people will be involved in finding new achievements and inventions as more people will have the capacity to search for them. Right now, only a few (those with funding) can achieve them. Desire to achieve is much more important that the funding to achieve.

Your idea that only wealth can achieve and invent is ridiculous. Alexander Graham Bell and the Wright Brothers were not rich and yet they invented the telephone and airplanes. What you need is more people involved in wanting to achieve rather than less but rich.

So many hate filled replies. I guess this thread hit a nerve. The truth has always bothered democrats.
 
1. I never voted for President Obama, but he DID do some things that benefited that ethnicity.

2. I can remember a few.

a. He drew up plans to require suburban communities to have a quota of low-income housing.
b. He stopped school suspension for defiance.
c. He relaxed the work rules for welfare.
d. He appointed many people of that ethnicity to federal positions, including judges.
e. His administration never carried out any capital punishment cases.
f. He did something to help farmers of that ethnicity.

No doubt he did other things to help that ethnicity, but he may have felt that it was not politic to publicize them, so we are not aware of them.

There is no problem at all in getting rich off of an idea. You just need to pay more taxes, that is all. Nonetheless, they were not rich before their idea so no money was necessary to come up with the idea as you suggested. You stated that by taxing the rich, accomplishments and innovation would suffer.

You don't even seem to understand what you are saying yourself.

You don't understand the point. The REASON that those idyllic countries you mention with their 70% taxation do NOT invent anything is because they CAN'T get rich. Humans simply will not toil 16 hour days, 7 days a week just to bring you the laptop you are typing on. Nor will the invent the next cancer drug when they give the government 70% of what they would make.

Your ideology stifles ingenuity and hard work and inventiveness because their is little or no financial reward. I know. I KNOW. You will say they SHOULD do things just because it benefits humanity. Or the "shoulds" in the world won't make them. MONEY does.

What a load of BS. You have just 100% convinced me that not only you are blind by choice but that you absolutely do not use your head to even make sure that what you are thinking has any value or validity.

First of all, neither you nor I know what inventions came out of where. It has nothing to do with money. It has to do with character, personality, intelligence and desire.

Nonetheless and FYI, I googled inventions from Finland and this is what I got
