Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla is forcefully removed from Noem’s news conference and handcuffed

You ask questions at a press conference when the speaker has spoken for less than five minutes? I don't think so.

I suppose only God and Padilla really know what he was up to. From the video at post #269, from her mannerism, I'm not at all certain she knew he was there until the scuffle with the Secret Service/FBI happened. What do you think?

She could have asked him to wait his turn.

Yes.

This is exactly what Noem said: "We are not going away... We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

He threatened to respond with deadly force when faced with deadly force.

This is not even a little bit controversial.

Like people dont know that already. What a dick.

Unless his interruption was planned.

Good point.

Yes.
Ms. Noem is really something, huh.....
She stated how everyone fully appreciates the work donalds doing, and how they are all fully abiding by Constitutional law, literally, as they are all breaking their oaths of office..
This Woman is an insult to the intelligence of educated folks everywhere.
Lie engorged propaganda flows from her collagen engorged lips, as freely as the sun shines down on Los Angeles.
She is a mockery of our rule of law.
Donald chose her for one reason.
Her willingness to freely disregard ethics and the law of the land.
I never thought our once great country could fall this far.
Look how wrong you can be.

He only ever choses someone based on a single criteria.......abject, unwavering loyalty. Like a hungry puppy.

The fact that Senator Padilla was in the WLA Federal Building at all meant that he posed no threat.

Even in ordinary times there is security at every entrance. This change happened post 9/11.

Good point.

Pining him to the ground when there was no 'obvious' threat?

Here, they be suspended pending an investigation but USA is now a police state.

They thought wrong — they knew what checks were involved before entrance was permitted.

The second Alex Padilla announced who he was the goons should have backed off.

Instead, they pushed him, wrestled him to the floor, and handcuffed him.

Noem should have verbally intervened when she heard Padilla announce himself. She knows what he looks like, and his position in the U.S. Senate.
This is from Padilla's interview with MSNBC's Jacob Soboroff.

So the … whole time, right, we’re, the whole time, being escorted in this federal building by somebody from the National Guard, somebody from the FBI. I’ve gone through screening. This is a federal building. And so tell them, let’s go listen to the press conference. They escort me over to that room. And I’m sitting in the back of the room, behind the cameras, behind the reporters, listening, listening. And at one point, it was just too much to take. Not the first, but the second attack on the political leadership of California and this notion that Donald Trump and Kristi Noem have to come in and rescue the people of Los Angeles from Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass? It was too much. And so I spoke up. I introduced myself and said I had a question.

Look, they said I wasn’t wearing my pin, my polo says “United States Senate.” There was no threat. There was no lunging. I raised my voice to ask a question. And it took, what, maybe half a second before multiple agents were on me.

So, to be charitable, after a little over four minutes of listening to Noem's brief it became "just too much to take." And he just had to stand up, move toward the podium to ask his harmless question. No matter who escorted him to the briefing room the protective detail obviously did not know him from Adam, nor did they know his intent. Of course, if you live in a world where everyone lies, everyone lies.

Why didn't she simply invite him in, offer him a chair and say she'd be happy to answer his question?

If they can muscle him to the ground, certainly they should have been able to guide him to a chair.

*Crickets*

Well, she wasn't wrong. The rioters did everything to prevent the federal government from carrying out the law. In fact, the rioters were already doing their thing and attempting to prevent ICE from carrying out their official duty. The LA cops didn't even show up to help until after ICE started to make their raids, seeking help. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons claimed that it took the LAPD over two hours to respond to multiple calls for help from federal agents facing violent rioters on the same day. There was definitely a delay in LAPD’s response. The LAPD answers to the mayor and they definitely placed a burden upon ICE agents.

Now that the farm workers are off the hook, what's the point?

Ignorance, always pleading ignorance.

She could have asked him to wait his turn.
I also wrote ". . . from her mannerism, I'm not at all certain she knew he was there until the scuffle with the Secret Service/FBI happened."

In the best of outcomes Padilla would not have pushed back against the protection detail, Noem would have noticed him, and tried to calm the waters with a "please hold your question until I've finished." But it did not happen that way.

So they failed to pre co-ordinate with local law enforcement.

That's not LA's problem. It's Taco's fault. The rapist fat man is simply too arrogant to deal with lowly locals

Yep. I watched and heard her say that and more from several video clips. Rather a militant speech.

Always exaggerating.

They did SHIT

Now that the farm workers are off the hook, what's the point?

Speaking of points. Wth is yours?

You do realize that ICE's raids brought many undocumented criminal aliens into custody.

ICE and DHS have not released a full list of names or detailed demographics of all 44 individuals, as is standard practice to protect detainee privacy and due to ongoing immigration proceedings but they did release the names of some of the worst dregs of the earth.

  • Cuong Chanh Phan, 49, from Vietnam: Criminal history includes convictions for involuntary manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon, parole violations, and drug violations.
  • Armando Ordaz, 44, from Mexico: Criminal history includes sexual battery (135 days jail, five years probation), receiving stolen property (90 days jail, three years probation), and petty theft (365 days jail, four years probation).
  • Francisco Sanchez-Arguello, 38, from Mexico: Criminal history includes arrests for grand theft larceny and possession of a prohibited weapon.
  • Jose Gregorio Medranda Ortiz, 42, from Ecuador: Convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, sentenced to 135 months in prison.
  • Victor Mendoza-Aguilar, 32, from Mexico: Convicted of possessing unlawful paraphernalia (112 days jail), possessing controlled substances (16 months jail), assault with a deadly weapon (four years prison), and obstructing a public officer (364 days jail).
  • Delfino Aguilar-Martinez, 51, from Mexico: Convicted of assault with a deadly weapon with great bodily injury (365 days jail).
  • Jose Cristobal Hernandez-Buitron, 43, from Peru: Convicted of robbery, sentenced to 10 years.
  • Jordan Mauricio Meza-Esquibel, 32, from Honduras: Criminal history includes arrests for distribution of heroin and cocaine and domestic violence.
  • Jesus Alan Hernandez-Morales, 26, from Mexico: Convicted of conspiracy to transport an illegal alien (239 days jail).

I did not believe the GOP would nominate Trump for another go at the presidency. When they did, I didn't believe he could win. But they did and he did. The only thing I almost got right about him was the chaos he would bring with him. Almost, I say, because the chaos is worse than I imagined.

For that I blame Biden's decision to run for a second term. Harris simply did not have sufficient time to polish a winning campaign.

Harris was the biggest political mistake of my lifetime.

That whole run, not run situation SHOULD have cost them more than just the presidency.

Yes, Biden lied about his health. But party leaders should have been on top that and made a fight of it, deliberately.

If anything the Democratic party needed some tough infighting to toughen them for Trump.

They whimped out.

Harris was a mistake and will be again. Even if she fails to get the nomination her name will hurt the party. Democrats need to forget and get people to forget their lowest point in history

Yeah, but like farm workers, many of them are workers too.

If Trump's letting farm workers off the hook, why not these folks?

Are you saying government, through ICE, the Natiioal Guard, the Marines and th3 local police caught just 9 people who are actual criminals?

What a sick joke.

Stick to the thread topic. The man many are defending interrupted Noem's briefing. If a Republican senator pulled that shit, you'd be calling for their resignation.

Happy to agree to disagree.
Did you call for MTG and Boebert's resignations when they went full potato at the State of the Union Address?

No. You ****ing didn't.
